Ive submitted my local walmart 4 different times and it keeps getting rejected cause of wayfair reasons… its a giant store with a large parking lot and the building has alot of benches… how is this not a good spot for a gym or spot? I honestly dont know what it wants from me. Ive seen people get there own backyards as a spot but my towns walmart which everyone shops at isnt? Can i get some help please
“Generic Business” under the “Appropriate” section of the review flow is a rejection reason, and the tool tip specifically calls out “chain” stores.
Does your Walmart have one of those location specific murals in it? Those make great Wayspots as they are unique to every community, and meet the criteria for exploration.
I will just add a separate comment since I left this out. Since your rejection reason is “Wayfarer criteria” I will guess that your email says “our team” instead of the “community” and that this was a rejection by the ML (machine learning ai) model.
And please study up on criteria: Niantic Wayfarer
To be accepted a Wayspot (you submit Wayspots, not Pokestops)
Must meet at least one of the three eligibility criteria
- A great place for exploration
- A great place for exercise
- A great place to be social with others
Welcome to the community, and I hope we can hope you be more successful with your next submissions!
I know in Europe, Walmart is considered something between an amusement park and a freak show, but in the end of the day it’s just a chain store, albeit a big one. I would deny it in a heartbeat.
At one point part of the U.K’s Chain store brand called “Asda” was part of the “Walmart Family” but after new owners took over I don’t think that was the case, people try to nominate it quite often over here and sometimes I accidently write the words
“portal”,“pokestops”,“gym”
and it gets rejected but when I edit and remove them in favour of Wayspot ideals and put “healthy mobile games” something strange happens and I get accepted.
Wayfarer is a strange beast,so do a little research before submitting anything and it may even pay off as you will learn something like the rest of us do on a daily basis and feel proud when you see that green “accepted” button and a rainbow ribbon.
Oh wait l think I’m just talking about myself.
