Wayspot didn't appear in Pogo

Hey!
I got an aproved wayspot but it won’t show up in the game. +48h have passed by, what could have happened and why isn’t it in the game already?

Welcome to the forums

Not every accepted wayspot will appear as a pokestop/gym. The acceptance email tells you this, even if the submission process says “submit a pokestop”. Some things will become powerspots.

Wayspots are submitted to the wayfarer database and Pokemon Go then chooses which ones to use. This is done using a proximity check to avoid an area becoming too dense with things to spin.
Please see this post written by @cyndiepooh which may explain this for you.

If you would like to provide us with the GPS co ordinates and name of the wayspot we can try to give a personalised answer.

Thank you for the answer! I understand what you are saying, but isn’t there a way of making it a pokestop? There are many players who live close to this place but almost no pokestops available.

Unfortunately not if the cell it is in is already occupied.

The system used by Pokemon Go to select pokestops works well to prevent busy urban areas becoming too crowded. What it can also mean is that in villages, you might find wayspots blocked and not appearing in Pokemon Go, even though surrounding the villages there isn’t anything of interest.

If you want to post the location (e.g., 23.475809, -6.602934), there are forum members who would be willing to help hunt (streetview, ‘satellite’, maps) for things which might be eligible.

What do you mean by the cell is occupied?

Did you read the linked topic? If you give the location and title as requested, we can show you what this means if it is the issue.

Short story : only 1 wayspot can normally appear as pokestop/ gym per cell. You need to learn how s2 cell works in order to prevent future dissapointment

I did read it, yet it doesn’t really make sense because the cell is not ocuppied. It became a powerstop.

Here are the coordinates:
-19.936036, -43.964158

There is an active pokestop in this cell.

Olhos do infinito (-19.935598,-43.964363)

Please have a look at this location using Niantic Wayfarer

Thank you for your patience, I really appreciate it.
If that’s the limit, how can some pokestops be so close to each other yet these have to be separated? The pokestop next to Olhos Do Infinito seems to be in a diferent cell from Comunicando (-19.935475, -43.964406) but they’re so close! That’s making me kinda confused.

The community understanding is that each cell can contain one active wayspot/gym.

Since the cells are a grid system, this can mean that four pokestops could be really close together, each at the corner of their cell. When this happens, you won’t find other pokestops for at least 50-60 meters, as that is the approximate width/height of the cells.

The overall intention is to limit the density of pokestops in a general area, which this does successfully.

It means people in areas where there are lots of things that could be pokestops, far more than can be shown, have to travel around a bit to visit more pokestops and gyms, instead of staying rooted to the spot. Pokemon Go is fundamentally about going out and exploring

This is what I found when hunting for a real-life example:

Oh, that’s sad. Thank you for all the help!

Here’s another example if that helps for future reference

Here is one of the closest ones I see regularly

Here is a screenshot of when we first noticed the pokestop beside the gym XD

I have another real life example.
