are you able to share the coordinates? They will be on your nomination email
Welcome to the forum,
The usual reason is that the wayspots are in a cell that is already occupied (only 1 waypoint per cell).
@cyndiepooh has written the following that gives much more details.
Good luck.
Hi and thank you for sharing! The coordinates you have in your submission email would be more helpful than the embed - this tells us the rough area but doesn’t tell us what specifically you nominated and where you pinned it.
(39.593306, -0.517099)
(39.593306, -0.517099) y (39.593140, -0.517214)
This location is in the same grid as another Wayspot so is not eligible to become a Pokestop.
It is also inside the blue outlined circle, so is not eligible to become a Powerspot.
The same goes for this location.
The map I am using has not updated since May 23, so I assume the locations I show as existing Wayspots are not the new ones you had accepted in August. There may be Wayspots that this map does not show. But it does show the S2 cells correctly.
Any time I talk about S2 cells, I caution people that pinning things where they are NOT to put them in an empty cell is abuse. I am glad they allow us to tell people about them.
Two Wayspots only need to be across one of those invisible lines to both be Pokestops/gyms. They can be very close to each other in real life. And sponsored stops do not have to follow the S2 cell rules.
In the past, abuse of edits could force two Pokestops/gyms into the same S2 cell and both stay in game, but should not happen now.
I am adding another screenshot with the satellite view so you can see how the L17 S2 cells overlay this park. I randomly marked the Wayspots that show on this map as stops/gyms to highlight the cells that have something in them already.
I don’t see anything in the empty cells that would be eligible to submit. And those cells may not actually be empty. This map is a map of Wayspots that were being used as Ingress portals before May 23. The Scopely sale included Wayfarer and Pokemon Go, but did not include Ingress, so this map no longer updates with new Wayfarer information. But the S2 cell lines will still be accurate.
I have a local example which Cyndie (or anyone else) can steal to show this.
These are very close to each other, and the map is very zoomed in. On the map on Pokémon GO, they seem almost right next to each other.
As they are in different cells, they’re totally fine, but would look very close to whole who doesn’t know about cells
¿Se puede acceder al mapa de ellos? Me serviria para revisar mi zona local.
There is no current map of Wayspots. Ingress, which is the game which had the maps, was not sold to Scopely. The GeoSpatial Browser that some people were using to see Wayspots which did not have an S2 cell overlay also stayed with Ingress at NianticSpatial.
