Accepted Wayspots not appearing in Pokémon GO

Hello everyone,
I’d like to ask for some clarification. A few of my Wayspot nominations were recently accepted, but they still don’t show up in Pokémon GO. I’ve checked the area carefully, and there aren’t any other PokéStops or Gyms nearby that could be blocking them.

Does anyone know why this happens? Is it just a matter of sync delay, or could there be another reason why accepted Wayspots don’t appear on the map?

What are you using to check cells? Can you provide more details like coordinates?

To be honest, I noticed by sight that there is just a gym nearby, but not so close as to interfere with the wayspot

You cant look at a map in pogo and say its “not close as to interfere”, you need to look at actual cells… 2 waypoints can be 200m apart and still be in a same cell, or they can be 1m apart and be in different cells.

I have this written up for when I see a wheresmypokestop question. I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. The S2 cell use has not been officially confirmed as far as I am aware, but staff has acknowledged there is an additional step after acceptance. If you leave the gps coordinates, someone will be happy to show you how the cells hit there.

the post i linked explained where to find the coordinates. it could have been moved in voting, so this may not be the final position. this map i am using no longer updates with new wayspots since may 23, but still shows the cell lines correctly. the red pin marks the coordinates i copied from you.

while there is nothing else showing there, you will need to check manually with the pogo toggle in the nomination map screen to see where existing wayspots lie. i highlighted one of the existing portal wayspots to try to help you see where this is on the game board.

also in the post i linked, i explained that it could take 48 hours to sync into pokemon go if eligible. you said “recently” but not how recently. could it just be that it hasn’t had time to sync yet?

there have been recent sync issues, but i think those have been corrected.

What a nice map! But where did you find it? Actually, the Wayspot was accepted on September 17th—do you think it might be too soon? At most, I’ll try to check again tomorrow. Anyway, the library is located exactly where it appears on your map.
