I submitted a wayspot that got accepted the other day. When the sync to Ingress occured today, the new wayspot appeared in-game, but one adjacent to it got removed? Someone let me know if this is a bug, who to contact, or if it’s a feature I’m missing. Also, the wayspot dissapeared in Pokemon Go as well.
Let’s see if we can figure out this mystery! What are the titles of the Wayspots, and the location as close as you can give it? GPS coordinates are the most helpful.

Added/new wayspot: SABAH Center and Chapel, 41.93013° N, 87.87345° W
Removed wayspot: Resurrection Lutheran Church, 41.93006° N, 87.87284° W
Resurrection Lutheran Church has been removed from the database. It can be that someone reported it for removal and that got accepted

It does seem like this is just one building, so only one of the two Wayspots should exist to me. It could be that when your nomination was being reviewed, someone saw that the church wasn’t there any more and reported it for removal. Or it could have been entirely unconnected. But it isn’t a case of the new Wayspot blocking the old one, the old one is gone.
Thank you so much for your help. I wasn’t aware that reviewers had the power to remove already existing wayspots that they see. But this explaination would make a lot of sense.
Yes, anyone who sees a wayspot that needs it can submit a removal request. They can use help chat, or can use one of the forms linked at the top of the forum here.

Being that the church doesn’t exist at this location anymore and the Islamic Center is currently there, the Wayspot for the church did need to be removed, as that keeps the map accurate. Looking at Street View, the church seems to have closed between Aug 2016 and Sept 2017, as the signage changes to the Islamic center in Sept 2017.
Surprised this wasn’t updated sooner, but it can happen, as some just don’t care much about having an accurate map as some of us do, as well as Wayfarer.
