- Additional Information (if any): Nominated Basketball court which got accepted on November 8th, 2024 and was added to the game in mid December 2024 and deleted after few days. I seen it on IITC Map when I was traveling to another place for holidays and when i get back it got deleted.
About the nomination:
The basketball court is part of the Orlik sports complex, which typically includes various sports fields along with additional facilities such as outdoor gyms, restrooms, and changing rooms for public use.
Niantic’s policy generally prohibits the nomination of POIs on school grounds to ensure player safety and respect for private property. However, Orlik sports fields are unique facilities, as they are part of a government initiative aimed at creating public spaces accessible to everyone, not exclusively tied to the schools they are built near or next to them as a separate entity. This aligns with the objectives of the Orlik government program, which explicitly emphasizes that these facilities are open to the public.
The nominated Orlik has a separate entrance, clearly distinguishing it as an independent entity from the adjacent school. While it is near a school, both the school grounds and the Orlik are publicly accessible spaces, each with its own entrance that operates independently. This ensures that the Orlik can serve its purpose as a community recreational area without restrictions linked to the school.
This distinction reinforces the argument that the Orlik should be evaluated based on its intended public use and accessibility, not solely its proximity to the school.
