As you can see in the satellite image of the location (GoogleMaps), the correct location of the Wayspot is near the corner, where we have pedestrian crossings and safe access for people.
Google maps link: Google Maps
Legend: 1 and 2: Access crossings | 3: Correct place | 4: Wayspot reference | 5: Current place unsafe.
The location to which the Wayspot was moved makes it unsafe, as it will be located at the vehicle exit gate, with no pedestrian access, as we can see in the following image.
Legend: 1: Current place unsafe (unsafe and in front of the vehicle gate | 2: Correct place | 3: Wayspot reference
The original Wayspot location was chosen so that it would meet all criteria, especially security criteria, the location is also within the Wayspot area, so it cannot be considered an incorrect location. I therefore request that the original location be restored, as it meets all the criteria for Niantic games.
And if possible, after the restoration, block attempts to modify the location, thus avoiding abusive practices.
I cannot read your e-mail screenshot fully, but I see comunidade, which makes me assume that this is a community rejection of the location edit. Did you try to appeal that in your wayfarer contribution management? You can appeal 2 things every 20 days.
Hi @iFrankmans
The email capture is in my native language (Brazilian Portuguese), but it refers to the attempt to return the Wayspot to its original location, based on all the information I included in the thread.
Yes, we have the possibility to request the location edit again (as I did) and appeal if it is not accepted, but this can cause problems for my account or for other people’s accounts, since we all (in the local community) know who is abusing the edits, moving specific Wayspots to incorrect locations just to harm other players. This person has already had several accounts banned (4 on Ingress and 3 on PokeGo), but continues with the practice.
This person buys or uses other tricks (fake GPS, for example) to level up the accounts, and thus return to the abusive practice, and in the case of the edit, if it goes to vote, it can be marked as “Abuse” and real/fair players will be harmed, since this person has at least 8 eligible accounts to evaluate.
But what I’m really requesting in the Thread is the restoration of the Wayspot to its original location, as it was intentionally moved just to hinder gameplay, as well as putting players at risk of being run over.
This sounds like an abuse report instead. I would provide that information to the abuse team by use of the abuse form:
This part of the forum is meant for appealing decisions of the wayfarer team, such as incorrectly removed wayspots or rejected removal requests. And not for appealing a community decision on a location edit, that’s what the appeal functionality of your wayfarer contribution management is for.
Honestly? I’m tired of doing this and getting automated copy/paste responses, even after providing detailed information about the abusive practices.
Well, as soon as I get a negative response to the correction attempt (edit) to the correct location, I’ll come back here, because I know it will be “denied by the community” that is currently formed here in the Region by one player and his infinite accounts.
Another way to fix an incorrect location is though help chat if your current edit is rejected. You can provide them the evidence for the move. You can access help chat through Niantic Wayfarer (It says Location >10m but they have done smaller ones for me.)
I haven’t done it this way, but the linked report for Wayspot Removals at the top here can also be used for location corrections. Just do not reply to the automated email asking for your credentials as property owner. You can provide the evidence there.
As expected, the “community” decided to deny the edit, the appeal has already been filed, and once again the Wayspot was denied restoration to the safe location.
Below is the rejection email (and the translation of the text into English):
Translation print from pt-BR to en-US:
Thank you for your suggestion of a location for Wayspot TV Gazeta Norte on Dec. 4, 2024.
Unfortunately, the community has decided to reject your edit for Wayspot. Please check your Contribution Management page for full details.
Yours,
The Wayfarer Team
And now @cyndiepooh and @iFrankmans, according to all the information provided, can the Wayspot be restored to its original (safe) location?
Sorry to hear that it was rejected. You can now appeal this rejected edit in your wayfarer contribution management: Niantic Wayfarer
You get 2 of those every 20 days, so provide as much information as possible in that appeal such that the wayfarer team can help you take another look. Good luck!
I have already made the appeal, which was also rejected, I can no longer request a challenge to this edit suggestion, and if I make a new request the person who moved the wayspot and probably used their infinite accounts will report my requests as abuse, and I will be punished on Wayfarer for trying to correct something that was purposefully done with the intention of harming fair players.
Did you try the method I suggested with help chat? Did you provide help chat with evidence that the move is a correction? You can use geotagged photos, or a Scaniverse splat (but I have not downloaded that app to try that.)
Edited to add that if this is just an edit for safety and not a true pin location correction, then they were right to deny it. I can’t really tell where the poi is from the photos with my poor reading vision. The pin must be on the point of interest. If the point of interest is not in a safe position, then it should be reported for removal, not relocation.
The Pin is located within the land area (which occupies the entire block) and is visible from any side of the 4 avenues that surround it, but it was placed in its (original) location to provide safer access for everyone.
In the Google Streetview link in the first topic you can see the most recent images, and all the others from previous years where the POI is visible from all positions.
I will try the chat again, but my previous experiences were not good, because the attendants use automatic messages (apparently bots), there is no humanized service in the chat.
the initial reply is a bot but a human gets back to you. if your browser loses the chat record, then i suggest you try the “Wayspot Removals” form at the start to begin a chain of emails. the help chat does not create emails.
it says “Wayspot Removals” here, but if you follow the link, it says
If you’ve encountered a location in a Niantic game that you think should be modified or removed, or that violations our guidelines, please use the following methods to contact us:
if you use this method, you will also get an automated bot reply email asking for your credentials as propery owner, but do not reply to this one. then you can have an email conversation once a human replies. and can send your evidence that the location should be adjusted.
i agree with you that it is not a good idea to resubmit the location edit in game again.
edited to add a note that there is also the possibility any way you submit the location edit that niantic will decide to remove the wayspot instead.
