Wayspot not a pokestop confusion

Good Morning,

Just a little confused as to why my stops are not being turned into approved POI’s are not being turned into a wayspot not a pokestop even though it is in its own S17 cell.

that is the Pogo map of the general location of the screenshots, and you can see they are all in their own S17 cells. It just doesnt make sense to me, but as a newer Wayfarer

the two locations are “Lunga Park Boat Ramp” and “Lunga Park General Store”
and again, they were approved for the spot, but not turned into Pokestops.

I don’t use PogoMaps, but from what I understand, the information there can be inaccurate. Do you have the gps coordinates? They will be under the supporting photo in your nomination submission email.

Oh nvm. Lunga Park was unique enough to find it.

Lunga Park Maple Pavilion is just barely in the same L17 as Lunga Park General Store

This appears to be at 38.524589999999996, -77.460623 and I don’t see any reason this would not show in Pokemon Go. How long ago was it approved? It could just be that it hasn’t had time to sync yet. Pokemon Go has not been having a sync on Mondays since Max Mondays were introduced, so it might be Tuesday around 2-3 pm EDT before you see it if it is a sync issue.

Your kidding… I specifically put the waypoint for the pavilion at the entrance to it so that it would be the most accurate. I guess it got moved in the voting process. I figured the entrance and the grills would be the best place for the spot on the pavilion. is there any way to have that moved or would that be considered abuse?

Later in the evening last night, I think about 7pm EST, Ill give that a day or two before I make a fuss, I thought it would say Pokestop from the upload screen even if it hadnt synced yet.

That move is a tricky one that I am not qualified to answer. The pin is not physically touching the pavilion, so an edit could be seen as a correction. Or they could see it as an attempt at game manipulation. idk.

This confuses a lot of people. It does not mean that it will not sync in. That one should be okay.

Where would I go to have that checked, because I was attempting to put it on the top left corner, you can see the lighter brown coloration of the “primary entrance” in the satellite, because to the east of the pavilion is a super steep hill.

Is this the one that is in Pokemon Go? You can access the edit menu by tapping on the title.

If it is not the one that is in Pokemon Go, then you can ask help chat to move the pin. Go to Niantic Wayfarer and a text box will pop up. I would give them a geo tagged photo (or several) showing that the pin should be where you say it should be. Note that they will NOT make a move to put it into an empty L17 S2 cell, only for a real life correction.

That is the one in game, thank you for the information. It is on base so satellite and pictures are blurry and signal is spotty at best. I think I put in the request to move the location to a more accurate location. I appreciate all the assistance, hopefully the rest of my uploads go smoother, because I have a sneaking suspicion this will be a reoccurring problem due to the location being spotty signal and on a military base (there is public access to the park)

One last question, What mapping software are you using, because I am having trouble getting one that I like.

Honestly, don’t bother setting it up. This map is specific to Ingress and won’t be relevant to PGO players after the maps split which should be happening fairly soon (though we don’t have an official date).

Pogomap is ok if u only need to look the grind

it is iitc with a pogotools overlay that we don’t even know if will work after the changeover to scopely since scopely isn’t taking ingress. so i haven’t been recommending people set it up.

Well, Ill take advantage of using it now while it is still working. I have alot of stops to set up now that I’m back playing, and having that map will be beneficial.

I have been told that I can’t link directly to this kind of file since it breaks forum rules by having potential to cause harm, but that i could share a screenshot. the current version of pogotools is this and it has a readme to walk you through all the steps:
