I had submitted this nomination for some trail markers along an inter-municipal pedestrian route.
Let’s start from the assumption that—personal opinions aside—pedestrian trail markers are allowed. Can we confirm that?
The nomination was initially rejected with the reason: “Not safe.”
At that point, I filed an appeal, pointing out that the Municipality of Montaldo Torinese and some of the most renowned organizations dedicated to hiking and environmental conservation actively promote these pedestrian routes marked by such signs.
So, if these trail markers were created, and if they’re official, they cannot be considered “unsafe,” because someone with the proper authority must have evaluated their safety and determined that these country roads do not pose a danger, and that the routes are indeed safe to walk.
After the review, the nomination was rejected again, this time with a new reason: “Lacks uniqueness or cultural and historical significance.”
This is, obviously, infuriating. Really infuriating.
I mean, for crying out loud… what kind of disturbed little club is this?
Are there actual rules to follow, or is everything really just up for personal interpretation?
So I’ll ask the questions again:
- Are pedestrian trail markers eligible as PokéStops according to the guidelines?
- Is an official pedestrian route, endorsed by at least four municipalities, eligible as a PokéStop according to the guidelines?
Honestly, I feel mocked, and I now hold a very low opinion of this whole process.
Here are a few links that come up with a simple Google search—nothing fancy. The kind of thing reviewers should always do—just like I always do myself:

Also, it’s part of the Cammino di Don Bosco, a historical, naturalistic, and spiritual route dedicated to Saint John Bosco:
Enough. This situation has become truly tiresome.
And if karma is real, everyone who voted against it is probably spending a lot of time on the toilet
