Wayspot removal appeal for non-accessible gated corporate property

The portals on East Penn Manufacturing’s property have long since been the subject of ingress drama. East Penn Manufacturing (DEKA is a brand of battery they manufacture) has gates and security that man all the entrances into to the property. One ingress player works there, and uses the water tower portal to field, yet complains when anyone else enters the property to take it out because it is apparently a “hazard” for the public to be there.

It mentions traveling at your own risk. If someone gets hurt trying to get to this portal or the others on this property Niantic is going to have some explaining to do.

When Niantic rejects my report for something like this, I find a way to message the affected business to let them know the Wayspot exists. Most will have email or Facebook contact options. I will either get no reply, or someone will thank me for the message. Sometimes they pursue removal, and sometimes they are fine to let it stay. But Niantic will always respond to a property owner request to remove or modify a Wayspot.

Anyone that works there has legitimate access to the portal. The sign clearly states you’re trespassing if you enter that area without authorization. If you think playing Ingress is worth getting arrested and/or jailed over, then that’s on you.

Although this portal appears unlikely to be removed, since it is accessible to at least one person and has not been proven to be faked/wrongly located/on school or SFPRP grounds, I do feel that its existence should be no reason to trespass. Opposing-faction agents should get a visitor’s pass or other official access in order to access this portal, so if they’re not following those standards then the employed agent has every right to complain to the proper authorities (not Ingress authorities, but perhaps building security or local police).

“Has no safe pedestrian access.”

If it is hazardous for the public to be around this portal, due to the manufacturing activities (trucks, chemical operations, etc) happening around this portal, why is it safe for anyone, including employees to be playing a game in such industrial conditions?

Safe pedestrian access means that whoever has access to it can walk up to it and stand safely at the wayspot. Whilst there may be industrial things happening at parts of this site, the tower is in an outdoor location with plenty of safe space to stand at it.
