I need your help because my nearest wayspot (It was on Ingress and recently, had become a gym on PoGo) disappeared 3 months ago (From Aug-7 to Aug-13). I want to appeal because it’s a wayspot that complish the requeriments to be a wayspot.
I’m going to give you more details:
Wayspot Title: Pico de Pingüino
Location (lat/lon): 4.715732, -74.059119
Adress: Cl. 128c Bis #52-61
City: Bogotá
Country: Colombia
Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information): There’s not a rejection email from the portal, it was just removed
Additional Information (if any): It is a portal that was accepted more than 2 years ago, in august the portal has disappeared.
The way spot was approved by the Wayfarer community, I proposed it. During 3 years was a part of some Niantic games as portal. Was deleted and I resubmitted it and was approved newly. Please note that the community accepted it two times because the community consider it inside the graffiti category.
The list of categories that you can select when uploading a nomination are not a list of eligible things. In fact, there are many ineligible categories on that list.
Unfortunately, in South America especially, a lot of graffiti gets incorrectly accepted when it shouldn’t do. As @RoIi112 has linked to, there is a clarification on what is and isn’t allowed when it comes to stuff like graffiti, and to me this looks like it would be on the ineligible side of things.
Of course, the rules where changed, today there are new rules. Please delete all thousands of graffiti in the world if a graffiti is not a category and please update the menu in Pokemon Go for not show “Graffiti”. There are a problem with the management of change: The game show 'Graffiti" but is not a category. And because we are in the “gray area” please consider the return of this way spot.
The rules have not changed, this has always been true. The category menu doesnt need updating because its not a list of eligible items, its a list for niantics cateforizing.
The category options have nothing to do with criteria. It even lists “Elementary schools” which are specifically ineligible. I believe these categories are meant for other uses of the Lightship database besides Niantic games. The nomination flow for Ingress does not even include choosing a category.
