When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:
-
Wayspot Title: KZ-Denkmal
-
Location (lat/lon): 50.016992, 8.585836
-
City: Mörfelden-Walldorf
-
Country: Germany

Additional Information (if any): The Wayspot serves as a memorial to the events of World War II in Germany. It was a concentration subcamp here, near Frankfurt Airport. As a reminder and memorial, the area was adjusted and turned into an educational trail. This includes this memorial, the information signs of the historical educational trail itself, and the main building (the roof is slightly indicated to the right above the information signs with the white board). Overall, this memorial is part of German history and should therefore not be removed, despite its historical sensitivity. Further information is also available on wikipedia (the first mentioned photo shows the memorial): KZ Walldorf
Were you successful in getting your waypoint reinstated? I just filed an appeal today and I’m wondering how often they are reinstated.
This appeal hasn’t been answered yet. Usually appeals take around 2-3 weeks before they have been decided.
But there are also rare cases that they get decided very quickly

Oh thanks! Does it always show if the request has been decided?
Staff normally comment here when they have made the decision. Sometimes you will see the result in game before you see a comment here. If you don’t see anything after a few weeks, it is okay to make another comment on this topic to bump it.

Y’all are usually much faster! I am really impressed how quickly issues are handled here. That would be when I would think it may have slipped through the cracks with everything y’all are juggling

Example: I posted about a rejected appeal for a Gym wayspot submission. The appeal was reversed into an acceptance about 5 minutes after posting.

Thank you. Appreciate the kind words. For context, that message was a representation of our disappointment for letting these few slip through the cracks.

Thanks for the appeal @xsinofpride . We reviewed this Wayspot again and stand by our decision to remove the Wayspot.

Hi @NianticAaron,
now that every other wayspot in this area regarding that topic has been removed as well, I wanted to ask if I could perhaps get more information about what is eligible and what is not?
I know that this is a very sensitive topic, but the historical nature trail, which is open to the public 24/7 in the forest, does a very good job of recounting the events. Many of the objects would not exist without the survivor Margit Horváth, as she and her foundation campaigned for the history of this place to be addressed.
Some further questions:
Is a distinction made between the nature/education trail and the memorial, or does the rejection refer to the historical theme in general?
Is there now some kind of geoblock for this area or would it be possible to submit e.g. a trail marker at this area which is there independently?
Have there been any changes to the guidelines since November 2024, as I submitted a new Wayspot there at that time, which was accepted with “Our team has decided…”?
Thanks for reading
