When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Federal Way Water Towers

  • Location (lat/lon): 47.324778, -122.326007

  • City: Federal Way

  • Country: United States

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):
I had reported this wayspot for being close to residential housing. After being rejected, the wayspot was moved onto a gated government water tower that is inaccessible to the public. It does not meet the Wayfarer Criteria due to being inaccessible to pedestrians and located on an industrial site.

Welcome to the forum @Joethix

There is a common misconception when it comes to access that everyone needs to be able to access it. This is not actually the case. Things in gated locations can be valid so long as those who have access to the area can do so safely on foot. So whilst you might not have access to it yourself, if someone from the water company who has access to it can safely walk up to it and stand by it, that is OK as far as access requirements go.

Thanks for the appeal, @Joethix We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.
