Wayspot Removal Report Appeal: Vejen til Holbergs Vej

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Vejen til Holbergs Vej

  • Location (lat/lon): 55.525596,11.489245

  • City: Dianalund

  • Country: Denmark

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):

On the 10th of February, I made 5 reports of 5 Wayspots that were almost identical, with the same name. All 5 Wayspots are/were ordinary roadsigns, yet titled and described as if they were trail markers. Therefore all of my reports were also almost identical, with the sole exception being that in one of the five examples, the roadsign was not a D21-sign but a D27,1-sign.

My initial report:
"Vejen til Holbergs vej:
Though the submitter has tried to make it seem as if this is a route marker pointing to/from a specific place, it is just an ordinary road sign. As seen in the guide to Danish roadsigns produced by the Danish Road Authority, available in English at https://en.vejregler.dk/h/7e0fba84-06dd-483b-898a-c7b3e3affaa1/vde-2015-0045?showExact=true, this is a simply a D21-sign denoting a bi-directional bicycle path, which does not fulfill the Wayspot criteria. "

Description of D21 from the handbook:

Wayspot picture:

As the five Wayspots are/were almost identical in nature (picture of the same type of sign, same title, same description), and my five reports were almost identical, I was surprised to see that four of my reports were accepted, while the 5th was rejected. Hence the appeal - I figure with the likeness of the Wayspot and the likeness of the report across all five, that they would be meant to receive the same result.

I realize that there is some chance that I managed to mistakenly report one of the other four Wayspots twice, in which case I do apologize. As feedback, I will note that it would be nice if the “report receipt” emails included the coordinates for the Wayspot as well as the title, e.g. instead of just “Thank you for reporting Vejen til Holbergs vej!”, the first line of the report receipt email could read “Thank you for reporting Vejen til Holbergs vej at 55.525596,11.489245”. It would make it easier to keep track of - especially in cases like this, where a Wayfarer is reporting multiple Wayspots with the same name.

Best regards & thanks in advance (and again, my apologies if this is simply just me making a goof),
Jakob Helms

Thanks for the appeal, @JakobHelms We gave this a second look and decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
