Wayspot Removal Request Denied: Doncaster Central Library

  • Wayspot Title: Doncaster Central Library

  • Location (lat/lon): 53.5205706, -1.1319475

  • City: Doncaster

  • Country: United Kingdoms

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email

  • Additional Information (if any): This building was demolished. The rejected photo submission of planter balls (attached) is what is now at this location. The Doncaster Central library was moved to a new location which is also already a wayspot. (The new location for the library can be verified if required at the following coords 53.5211244, -1.1297894). Please kindly reconsider the denial to remove since the entire building is gone and a recreational area is in this space.

Welcome to the forum @mir1377

For future reference, submitting an unrelated photo is not how you should attempt to get things removed, and can potentially get you into trouble with the rules.

If something no longer exists, you should simply report the location as no longer existing, use the supporting text box when reporting to include any additional evidence such as a link to an article that confirms the demolition, and then if the report is rejected, you come here to appeal it, and additional photos can be posted on your appeal thread if need be.

Hope that helps

Hi @hankwolfman

I did report the wayspot as demolished. It was denied. I appealed the denial because the wayspot is no longer there. It was denied. I submitted the photo as proof of what is actually there. It was also denied. I am trying to show that this wayspot is no longer there. Thank you for your comment tho. I hope that my response helps.

Bumping this, as I have just had my appeal rejected aswell @mir1377
Is there anything more we can do?

I don’t know if you included any websites in your proof that the situation with the old central library has gone.
This bbc article is a good source about the demolition of the old site

And the current Doncaster Council information about the new building ( which looks great).

Now you just have to wait for the Wayfarer Team decision

Thanks for the appeal, @mir1377 After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
