I have now had two Wayspots that are labeled as False nomination. while this is not correct! (see attachment) Google Street View has not passed there since 2009, that is now 16 years ago. If you use Apple Maps you can see that my nominations are not false. This map is much more recent than Google. (see attachment). I am afraid of losing my account because of something I did not do. Compare these addresses on Google Maps and Apple Maps and then you will see what I mean. What can i do?
If you know ahead of time about this kind of issue (also be sure to check Bing Maps Streetside), then include that in the support information when you submit.
If you realize it after the submission, while still in the queue, I think (someone please verify) that you can add the information to the nomination. (Available in your Contributions section on Wayfarer!).
If it gets rejected, then provide the information when you appeal it. Granted, you only get two appeals every 20 days (max two), so it may be a bit before you can do the appeal.
As long as your nomination was in good faith, I do not think there should be any problems with banning (but, stranger things have happened).
Hi @daylancl
Welcome to the forum
It’s obviously that you’re scared but
I’ve closed your topic in the other categories because there’s no need to double post.
Please stay in one post for the same issue.
Hello and welcome to the forum.
Don’t worry. As long as the second image you submit shows the submission and the surrounding view and scene, we can compare it to the street view. The shape of the house matches, so it is clear that it is not a fake mission. They will not be disposed of based on the review results alone, and the team staff will always do the verification process when the report is done.
But I assume your submission is a generic National Highway sign; even without Wayspot, would you visit that sign for any purpose? Does it meet any of Wayfarer’s three eligibility criteria: explore, exercise, or social? Referring to the next twoSee the next two.
Hello and welcome,
I’d be interested in seeing what the rest of your nomination included, such as the location, as well as the supporting photo/info. Seeing the full nomination may help us better understand why this was rejected for being fake, as it’s possible that the supporting photo doesn’t show the sign being nominated with the surrounding area, just the surrounding area. Please feel free to post the rest of your nomination so we can get a better idea of the issue.
Keep in mind that the burden of proof is on the submitter to prove the nomination exists. Reviewers may only use Google Maps, as that is what is used for reviewing, and may not check other maps. Never assume that reviewers will put in the extra work to check other maps that aren’t a part of the review process to try and find a nomination.
@nexushoratio Yes, while a nomination is still in queue, any text can be edited, such as title/description/supporting info; photos and location cannot be changed. I have edited these on a few occasions, especially if I find a helpful link after nominating that I’d like to include in the supporting info.
I see you added the supporting photo, and the location appears to be around 50.88433067644672, 3.452619330791449. If you can also include the supporting info, as well as a screenshot of the map from Contribution Management, that would be helpful. It may be listed as Supplemental Information in Contribution Management, but we typically just call it supporting info/photo here.
Yes, I can see that this is on the same post with the sign saying Bessem on it that is on Street View back in 2009. This is also in Belgium, a country that has had some issues with fake Wayspots in the past, particularly with trail markers. This is another reason why seeing the text of the supporting info would be helpful, as more info may need to be provided that this is a bike trail/trail marker, such as a link to a map.
Pad aanwijzing van Tiegemberg en route 24 (Trail indication from Tiegemberg and route 24) just this so nothing to special
I always mention in my nomination’s supporting information, if the wayspot is not visible in streetview, so they wont be surprised .
