At first my wayspot was accepted but did’t spawn in pokemon go, so my idea was thinking the spot was in the same cell than an other one. Then I check on Ingress to confirm that, and I saw nothing too…
Then I was hoping to submit it again becose there is nothing in pogo and ingress, so an other player of my comunity which has an upgrade stored do it again… And then we were very surprised when we saw that the POI was rejected for duplicate, but duplicate of what???
There is no POI in any game for the fist submition
Hello,
What’s the location for this submission? We can certainly check Lightship to see if it is on the map.
Hi,
Thanks for Lightship information, I just DL it and see my POI on it.
But why isn’t it on Ingress too?
Less than 20m? I remember a few years ago I had a pretty similar case where my POI was accepted less than 20m away from an other, so it does nothing and I can submit it again without duplicate rejection.
Yes, each game has their own density rules, with Ingress using a 20 meter rule and PoGo using S2 cells. You may want to see what other Wayspots are nearby, get the location, and use the measurement tool with Google Maps to see what the distance is. I’ve done this before, especially when requesting location edits over 10m in help chat, to make sure the correct location is over 10m.
It’s a pretty easy tool to use with Google Maps on a computer, as you just have to right-click on the map, then select Measure Distance. I don’t now how it’s done in the app, but it should be an option.
I was a bit confuse because it worked not exactly like this before, and i did’t knew that there is some small change on 20m / ingress…
Now I know, thank you for the help
@Croller If you sre submitting through PoGo at the location, in the submission there is a toggle button that allows you to view all the nearby waypoints whether they sre in PoGo or not.
