Hi, In our neighborhood, as everywhere else, there was a normal amount of showcases. Although after a few months, most of them were removed and no new ones appeared.
Most of theme were some types of street arts that changed or objects that was removed due to construction of new buildings
Is there anything we can do to have an adequate number of showcases again?
Wayfarer does not have anything to do with promoting showcases. I don’t know how to tell you to proceed. Maybe try to contact Pokemon Go help.
I do not know of a single case with evidence that a new Showcase has ever been promoted since the initial introduction. There have been a few reports of new Showcases, but nothing that has proof - for example the Pokestop itself is newer than the Showcase feature. And only a few reports on a huge global server like the Wayfarer Discussion Discord means you are not likely to see a new Showcase unless the Pokemon Go team changes something.

Niantic does have a quirk around murals that change. They will allow you to update the mural instead of removing and replacing it. If the new artwork has not been separately submitted and accepted already, you may be able to appeal the removal of the mural for reinstatement with a new photo.
Same here. They’ve only done a showcase Pokestop rollout once and then never bothered to look at it again. Any showcase Pokestop that’s removed just means a sector of the map that doesn’t have a showcase any more, rather than any other Pokestop in the area becoming a showcase. And areas that didn’t have any Pokestops until after the initial showcase rollout will just never have them. I guess they just can’t be bothered to take a look at it again. I’ve seen it brought up in various places throughout the years.
It would be very helpful if the wayfarer team could communicate this to the Pokémon Go team, since its basically a case of active wayfarering affecting a part of the game that now needs significant maintenance
