When you go to early voting and see plenty of PoI

So I went to do early voting at a new place which was a rec center at a park. I was shocked the large park only had 1 stop, which was Baseball field 1. You might not be able to have your phone out while voting, but I had it out the rest of the time and oh boy did I get busy. Anyone else submitted while doing you civic duty?

Am I the only one who gets sad when they see $SPORT Field #N.

To me they feel like the equivalent of (Disc )?Golf Hole #N.

I had a similar experience a few years back, stood in line to vote and then afterwards went out and submitted multiple sports fields and a pavilion at the local church where we voted - made the joy of voting much sweeter!

Wow, just looked this park up and itā€™s not small! Great finds!

Yep, you never know what youā€™ll find out there!

ā€œEarly votingā€ puzzled me as my initial thought was ā€¦.is this some sort of breakfast reviewing on the move.:joy:

But once I read on it became clear.

Not at all. The individual disc golf holes would be equivalent to the bases. The game being played is entirely contained on the separate field, and you can access the Wayspot without interrupting the players on the field.

Yeah, I donā€™t know if Iā€™ve heard it called that outside of the US. Most countries just note the days that people can vote, but I think itā€™s mainly because the US actually has an Election Day.

Back in June, when I dropped off my primary election ballot at the courthouse, I submitted 3 new Wayspots in their outdoor plaza.

Yeah itā€™s actually very similar to another local park closer to where I lived. It looks like they are building a waterpark/pool area in it, so maybe Iā€™ll have more to sub later.

Yeah I thought it might cause some confusion.

Many of the nominations youā€™ve provided are promising. However, I would suggest reconsidering the batting cages and additional baseball fields, as they may lead to redundancy. A central concession stand, strategically placed among the fields, could be a more efficient solution. Exceptions could be made for very large athletic complexes with distinct field names, such as SW Field, SE Field, Junior Field, Flores Field, Hildebrand Field, etc.

Each field is eligible, as well as the batting cages. We are curating the Lightship map, not any one game. I know of a Little League baseball complex with 4 fields, and all 4 have Wayspots. This area has Little League games, and the fields are for the Little League mainly.

Batting cages do promote exercise, as you are practicing your swing and/or pitching, and may also allow for some socialization.

You can take a look at the area at 32.45799163759018, -84.90720774444836 or the below link:

While individual components like batting cages and specific fields could be considered, it might be more strategic to nominate the entire baseball complex as a single Wayspot. This approach could better capture the overall significance and unique features of the location.

Iā€™ve never seen individual fields rejected, and Iā€™m just going to leave it at that.

While thoroughness is important, we should prioritize interesting and engaging locations. A focus on unique experiences and social opportunities would enhance the overall Wayfarer experience, not filling-in every rectangle box in Wayfarer.

Wow! You definitely got busy. How many of your spots got accepted/rejected or are they still in limbo? I see your post was only submitted 12 hrs ago so Iā€™m sure theyā€™re probably in limbo but Iā€™m just curious.

I havenā€™t been closely tracking my individual nomination history, as the review process has evolved significantly since 2020. Itā€™s clear that some excellent nominations are declined, while others less deserving are accepted.

Iā€™ve recently noticed a decline in my Wayfarer performance after 14K+ reviews, with a lower agreement rate to ā€œgoodā€ from ā€œgreatā€ since 2021. Historically, itā€™s normal for me to see ā€œgreatā€ rating at 32% acceptances and 62% rejections. Iā€™ll need to evaluate my recent reviews to identify areas for improvement. Perhaps my feedback could benefit from a more constructive and less sarcastic tone.

So far 8 have been accepted most likely by Emily. The ones in waiting are the LFL, concession stand, hopscotch, and the look listen sign.

Well to start, individual fields are eligible. Two of the ones there have names that I mention in the supporting info. (the baseball field 1 was submitted by someone else), I just felt number would be more cohesive rather than BB field #1, Esther Park Field, BB Field #3, Raymond Hall Field, and the field have signs with numbers on them as well. Each field promotes exercise, outdoor activity, and socialization.

Things like frisbee golf (or regular golf) holes are ineligible. As mentioned prior, it would be like submitting each of the bases. These fall more towards the ā€œgenericā€ category.
