I nominate in rural, suburban, and urban areas.
Can you post some examples of what you have submitted? It may work best in a new thread
Are there any parks and playgrounds ? Any hiking trails with signs ? Statues ? Chapels or churches ? A cemetary with decorative entrance gates ? tennis court ? Basketball court ? Ice skating rink ? fountain ? Riding stable ? Via Crucis or other religious sites ? Soccer field ?
It’s very important that the place be safe for pedestrians and that people can walk or get exercise — if not directly at the site then as part of a safe walk on a sudewalk or trail.
For ex the 2nd picture above looks dangerous for pedestrians to me …
Also be very very careful that there are no spelling mistakes, and to give a great description and location
Hey @BunnyPkmn thanks for the comments…
I nominate and review in both rural and cities. My recent rural nominations all went through. I was able to identify masses of POIs. In one little village I got 40 odd nominations. At several others I added a host of others. All bar one accepted.
Sure not everywhere is equal. But this is a game. It has rules. And they by and large work. And you know. Even so called urban centres lack eligible POIs. And people there get cranky too.
This may sound weird. In fact I now find it easier to nominate out of metro areas. My opinion and is based on where I have been. So not applicable to all or everywhere.
And this system has so much advice on how to nominate, there are numerous posts such as by Elffromspace that guide on best practice Wayspot Title and Description Tips - Wayfarer Basics - Niantic Wayfarer Community
Then there is the criteria clarification collection Latest Criteria Clarification Collection topics - Niantic Wayfarer Community
And if in doubt I go back over the Wayfarer Criteria section Niantic Wayfarer (same link @altertobi posted earlier)
I learnt to read everything and I still go over them if in doubt (reviewing and nominating) And I still post here for advice.
. When I started and mainly in a metro area - my success rate was shocking - I was cranky at everyone - I railed against them all. Then I remembered - it is just a game - learn the rules - listen to people - be more selective in nominating - make my nominations easier to review (I ensure all the hard work is done - so if anyone wants to research it every link possible is there).
So why not show us where you live (nearest village) Share noms that are failing. There are so many people willing and able to help. We all want good quality nominations everywhere
Hi, its me again and another declined suggestion. I‘m very sad that its so hard to get new PokeStops and I‘m really trying that my suggestions get accepted but maybe I‘m not very good at this…
Can somebody maybe help me that this will get accepted? Thank you for your help!
Edit: deleted the photo with the location and further information
The parts about memorial benches and viewpoints sound relevant to this nomination.
Specifically, show the view if you’re aiming for it as a viewpoint and/or elaborate about the memorialized for its memorial plaque aspect.
Also, it takes time to acclimate how to make great nominations. Personally, shifting towards encountering eligible items vs making game objects changed my success for my own noms. Also, a lot of reading.
So maybe when I take a better photo at day with the nice view and when I describe the Club which is mentioned on the bench then it can be accepted?
Without seeing the view the bench also supposedly anchors, it may be very hard to convince people it is a viewpoint.
Unlikely. This is not a memorial bench. It’s a sponsored bench. There is not even a viewpoint.
Additionally, you submitted it at incorrect location.
Remember, there is StreetView to proof the location. Reviewers may report your submission as abuse.
@BunnyPkmn
I also feel that sometimes the expectations of wayspot are not aligned with games like Pogo. Wayspot are supposed to have an interest in exploration/socializing, and because pogo works on Niantic’s Wayfarer, all the wayspots become stops/arenas. However, when you are playing the game, the “socializing” aspect of wayspot become less relevant, because you mainly need them for in game ressources (balls, quests, raids, …). And so, in areas when there is less things to nominate, it impacts negatively your game experience.
I think this is more an intern problem of pokemon rather than a problem in wayspot nominations, and it should be discussed “internally” in pogo places. But the fact that the new specific stop for dynamax in not related to wayspot let us think that Niantic is aware of this shift, and maybe works on it.
@Mimmikyo Hope all good
Couple of questions. Have your nailed the bridle paths (horse tracks) , walking trails, any restaurants/cafes/pubs. Gazebos (the rehab centre has one). Does the carpark opposite have a map, any notice boards. What is in the sports ground. What trail markers. I even saw one with a bird watching symbol . Village green with picnic tables, village map, sculptures. The Tennis club. There is a cemetery (anyone really famous). Any playgrounds?
Google street view is not that helpful and your village is long. And one end is quieter than the other end. But
But go all the low hanging fruit first. Be selective. Use the cell tool so you selecting right nom in right place. Follow all the advice here. From photos to text to evidence (supporting). And don’t get stressed.
I know people who worked to get trails marked, to have official walking routes past points of interest (on council website!!) little free libraries, badgered council for fitness stations etc. Longer process but hey
And yes you may not get many POIs but there are possible options.
Good luck
@altertobi well thank you, i took the photo and then tried to do the upload it later when I was not directly there thats why I took the wrong place as it seems, so wasn’t intentional but I hope I can’t get banned for this
The ressource problem is very big for me like @Nyavlys19 said and the pokemon spawn rate is very very low too :
@TheDoctorBird Thank you for your reply, the rehab centre is unfortunately not in the game and yes I tried the playgrounds nearby and they got accepted so I got a few accepted
