How or why was this removed I added 2 extra pictures to prove it is real I know for a fact it is real bc I saw it get painted. I work for the city and was sent to make sure nothing negative was painted on it.
If you need more pictures I’ll take them and send them, how many angles are needed. It’s city property connected to the street as it is the water drainage for roadways.
Hello @IceUpSon09
Could you please provide the coordinates for this removed wayspot? This way we can see more about it.
Also, this is not a challenge and will probably be moved to Wayspot Appeals section for you.
Good luck.

With the lack of Side Walks there is a problem of “Safety” and whether it is on “SFPRP”.
So what do i need to do now? To prove it as real and city property?
It is part of the road way, so i do t believe it would be on someones property. As you can see in the photos? Is there anything i should do? Im not familiar with appeals in this way?
If its removed, that means someone report it. Painted manhole cover like this usually hapoen because its considered not distinct because there could be many similarly painted manhole cover in the area or the location is problematic. if this is not true, you need to prove it
Thank you, i will do so im the morning. Its currently dark here in Morrilton Arkansas, not good for photos. Ill return needed information tomorrow. Thank you all for the help.
This one of example where manhole cover got removed after approval
If you know any information about who paint this, it would also help prove its uniqueness and not pretty vandalism. (I dont know why its removed, so vandalism is just one of the probability)
Hello,
In my view there is nowhere safe for pedestrians here.
It does look as though as though the property line goes to the kerb with the individual mail boxes still on the Single Family Private Residential Property. It does look as though the utility is on that SFPRP. But even if it is not since it is completely surrounded by SFPRP or road, there is nowhere for someone to stand.
It does appear to not be a suitable location.
Decided im just going to move the cover to a better location, rather than argue it. Appreciate all the help and advice.
Not sure what you mean by this but remember that mis-placing nominations can lead to warnings / suspensions to both Wayfarer and Games.
From the earlier comments, it sort of sounds like he may be able to move the real life object, to a more acceptable location.
How?
It’s a solid object but the real life object has the following problems…
- Possible SFPRP.
- No Safe Pedestrian Access.
- Possible reported as Not Distinct.
You can’t just lift it, take it somewhere else and image it there…
Time to walk away from this one ![]()
Do you mean that you are going to move the manhole cover in order to put it in a better location for the purposes of playing Pokemon Go. There was widespread abuse (in the Netherlands iirc) where people were placing decorative tiles for this reason, and many accounts received punishments for doing this.
“You can’t just lift it, take it somewhere else”…
Go back and read his comments, it kinda sounds like in this case, maybe he could.
Absolutely i can, as i work for the city street department. The people who made this painting deserve to have it. Not just for playing pokemon go. But for the talent that did this. Honestly i know nothing about pokemon, i submit thing for my kids to play and the kids in the area. I only submit things i would feel comfortable with my children going to. Everyone made good points thats why i chose not to pursue overturning the ruling. Thats also why i thanked everyone. Moveing to a suitable location isnt a bad thing or a rule break.
This is also a small town in Arkansas. Population of about 7300 ppl, sidewalks are nearly nonexistent here. Certainly are some but almost none. Kids still ride bikes and scooters in the road, ppl wave when you drive past. Rules are rules, but im certain most who so no to this arent from a small town. I just wanted to make my point and help add to the game for kids. Again thank you for the information on how to better submit spots going forward, i appreciated all input.
Manhole covers are rarely located in eligible locations. Either it will be in the middle of a street, which is unsafe. Or it will be a spot like this where it’s in someone’s front yard.
I’ve actually seen quite a few placed on the sidewalk, rather than in the street. As the one in the original post (except that the street in the picture doesn’t have a continuous sidewalk, just that one section).
