As I visited Hong Kong many other “signs” where also accepted. But I agree, we are living on a countryside and not in a big city, So it is our fault that we have not the chance to play this game in the same manner like in a big city.
In Germany, we can also select direction signs when we want to suggest a new Wayspot. Why is this now confusing and unacceptable? (I don’t understand Ninatic’s logic.)
If you are right, then please correct the selection list so that we can only select what you accept. Thank you very much.
If you find something removed that you disagree with, you could post the other examples as well., Histroic houses can be good candidates but dissqualified if they are a Single Family Private Residential Property. If it is such a property, it doesn’t matter how long it was a Wayspot before
If I understand correctly, Niantic can simply interpret the criteria as it sees fit?
For some, these bike path signs are accepted because they are part of a route and contribute to movement, exploration, and cultural themes.
For others, they are not accepted because they are “simple bike path signs”?
Then why are there criteria and a selection list?
I can provide an explanation for every Wayspot submitted that meets at least one of the criteria. But someone at a desk (far away from me) says that this is not the case and rejects it. Is that the point of the game, or is it the movement? (Pokémon Go)
Wayspots sometimes get accepted by the community despite being strictly ineligible.
If someone subsequently reports a wayspot, Niantic will sometimes remove it, despite it being accepted by the community. @kawin240 gives a good example of when this might happen - a wayspot on single-family private residential property (SFPRP) will get removed when reported. What the wayspot is of does not matter here - what matters for SFPRP is where it is.
Please forget the selection list. It has absolutely no meaning to any player of any Scopely game or to any wayfinder. All it does it gather data for Scopely and cause confusion for people submitting wayspots.
I understand, but I can see that you don’t understand our difficulties in the countryside, which is a shame.
I wish you all the best, as it’s slowly becoming pointless to play here (without Wayspots or arenas).
There are often comments from players who say they are in rural areas and are having trouble finding things to submit. This thread contains a discussion about this and suggests for what would be eligible.
Sometimes people find there is more than they expected.
Please note that lots of things are different in the countryside than in urban areas. Shops are further away, schools are further away, hospitals are further away and lots of things are harder to get to. Pokemon Go is not unique in being a different experience in rural areas than busy inner-city areas.
(Also, suburban areas can be surprisingly empty of interesting things, so players there sometimes have similar problems with playing on their doorstop.)
It’s sad to read something like this. It means that we could lose all our Wayspots in the future because no one can give us any proof that our Wayspots will still exist in the future. Similarly, it makes little sense to explain that a bicycle sign in the countryside has a different meaning than in the city, where every trash can has graffiti and is accepted!
In our small community, we have lost about 30% of our Wayspots and Arenas in the last two weeks. This also includes the routes that you can follow to reach a destination.
Hallo,
