El 31/12/25, a las 5:50am Chile, llegó un correo de contribución de nuevo Wayspot. Contribución correspondiente al año 2021, cuyo correo de confirmación nunca llegó hasta el 31/12/2025. Al revisar el correo a las 9:30am y posteriormente entrar a la página de gestión de contribuciones Wayfarer ya era demasiado tarde para revocar la propuesta debido a que estaba en votación (comunidad) pero ese estatus pasó a revisión (Niantic). Tengo temor de algún tipo de baneo ya que la propuesta en cuestión es un graffiti, el cual tampoco tuve tiempo de por lo menos editar la descripción.

I received an email that I submitted a waypoint on New Year’s Eve. The problem is that the submission is literally over two years old. I have not been in that location since then.
Did a submission get lost in limbo and suddenly get found?

Interesting. I put both of mine on hold as soon as I got the emails, so they survived the purge. One of them I withdrew since it was duplicate, while the other I never got to release to community review as it’s over 100 miles away, so I’m happy it’s still on hold. Although it only has one photo, it happens to be good enough to act as the wayspot photo without needing support for review. Lucky

What you’re experiencing right now is a known issue and we’re waiting for a fix.

I just got a rejection email about 2 hours ago from a nomination that it said I did in August of 2022. But it actually was approved, and I believe this occurred shortly after I originally nominated it. As far as I can remember, I submitted only one nomination for it, and it was approved on the first submission.
And i can’t even find the nomination in wayfarer in my contributions section.
I received notification of a ‘new’ submission which, upon examination, turned out to be a glitched upload from July 8, 2025. I had attempted to put it on auto-hold using tehstone’s tool at that time.

Now it is under Niantic review with only the supporting photo. The description and support info read: #hold.
The location is already a live Wayspot from a successful upload on a later date. Clearly, I never intended for an incomplete submission to go into review this way. Flutter should be pulled and discarded.

I have received a rejection for the one of mine that was involved from 2022. This was the outcome that the replacement had so all sorted.
I got some weird acceptance / rejection emails recently with no player name, for submissions made years ago. At first I thought their bot was digging through old rejections and re-evaluating them, but after a bit of checking, I realised these are probably submissions that got lost due to that old bug that resulted in some nominations not getting a confirmation email and not showing up in the nominations list.
And now, looking at the nominations I have under Niantic Review, I realise I had more lost submissions than I had noticed before, including one thing that is a confirmed dupe because I had resubmitted it already. Can’t withdraw it because it’s under review, hah.
A few of weeks ago, some old submissions which never got uploaded properly were found and released by Niantic. This was found to be not very helpful, because lots of these had been resubmitted or were incomplete (missing photos, placeholder narratives).
It seems this has happened again. I just got a (valid) rejection this morning for a submission from 2024-12-24 which never uploaded properly, has a placeholder title, has been resubmitted and accepted, so the rejection was for duplicate. I never got a “thanks for the submission” email. It wasn’t in the original set of old submissions found a few weeks ago.

Hello! I am here to report the same issue because of the nomination from 2024 got put on hold again and later rejected as a duplicate. The nomination was submitted only by me, but it seems like the old files got duplicated… I do not remmember exactly as it was long ago, but my game might have crashed when I was submitting that wayspot, but it probably still got through without any notification or wayfarer entry, but I only see one entry by me on my page. 
The nomination that got duplicated or either pulled from lost files gave me notification at 31st december 2025, but the wayspot was created on 27th october 2024, and accepted few days later.
Today (20th of january 2026) the duplicated/lost files nomination got denied as a duplicate.

In 2024, I submitted a nomination that was apparently stored in the Niantic system and was not reflected in my applications. As a result, I decided to submit another such nomination on the same day, which has long since become a gym in the game. The most interesting thing is that before this New Year, I received a message that my “lost application” had been received. I had already forgotten about its existence and thought that it was just a glitch in the notification system. And today, I received a refusal for the obvious reasons of it being a duplicate. This nomination was clearly glitched in the Niantic system, as it doesn’t even include an additional photo, without which I simply wouldn’t have been able to submit the nomination in 2024.
Have you ever had similar situations?
