I nominated a few wayspots but kept it on Pokemon Go for a couple of days. Once back at home, I submitted all and in a matter of minutes, a few of them were sent into voting. I hate typing on the phone so I usually just add a generic title and hit some random keys for description and supporting information. I usually edit it later on my destkop. Unfortunately, I was unable to for the nomination below:
Tanque means “washing basing”, or something similar. This is a structure from the XVI century.
What kind of “internal investigation” have you done in this case? Can someone from Niantic explain this? This is extremely unfair.
PS. I know I could have added some text that made sense but there is NO information to users that the grace period expires if you leave the submissions to submit later.
It seem like you have recieving an educational mail. Based on what I have seen on the forum, this is just a notification to give you attention about your submission should be more carefully.
I don’t think this will go in abuse ladder, and next time if your incompleted submission got into voting, you can use help chat to let them remove your submission.
Becareful next time!
Edit: I am not a staff, I am just assuming based on my observation. A staff can clarify to you.
I assume this decision was made by Niantic’s automated initial review system. I had a similar situation where I submitted an application, but before I could even receive confirmation that my application had been submitted, I immediately received a rejection message. Try to at least include non-random letter combinations. I think a couple of words in the title and description would be enough. Perhaps your random set of letters was interpreted by the system as a mockery of something/someone. Of course, this does not solve the problem of the notification received, but it may help to avoid similar issues in the future.
Cannot speak to the warning aspect of this, but just a tip for future nominations: use minimally viable text on initial submit. We all forget to go back and edit in time sometimes. It happens. It’s happened to me, but I try to make sure I submit something that’s like “Basketball Court at X Park” with description “Basketball”, so if it does happen, it will still get approved, even if it’s admittedly not great. I try to make sure the title is acceptable and the description is short but correct. I know some Wayfarers love placeholder text, but it’s not worth the risk to me of it accidentally going into voting. If you do want to continue with placeholder text, I’d recommend immediately signing into the app to put things on hold. I know people use that method, as it’s much easier to adjust text on a laptop.
So far as the warning goes, hopefully you can get a review here to get the strike removed if there is one. As trung said, for the generic very low, it may be more of just an education email. Based on what I can see here, this does look like a genuine accident.
Hi @sup3rfm
Welcome to the forum
Additionally to what the others already told you, I want to share the information that your nominations from the upload later list begin to count once you’ve safed them. The ML (machine learning) regulary works on the first 24h of an submission. So if you released them a couple of days later the ML work is already finished hence the results.
I know I could have made things differently. That’s not the point of my post.
The internal review system/ML flagged my submission was an abuse. This is wrong!
Plus, the information about the ‘grace period’ when saving nominations on how it works is limited to forum conversations. This is absurd. Inform your users where they are - in the app!
My submission was reviewed by ML and flagged as an abuse which clearly is not. I’ve asked someone from Niantic to review it, since there is no 1to1 support channel. If I wanted to know how to not go through this, I would have asked.
Following a report and an internal investigation performed by our team, we have confirmed that the content you contributed on 11/9/25, 6:45:27 PM UTC is violating one or more policies. We have taken action against it.
Here is more information:
Content: Tanque
Policy Violated: Generic very low severity offense
Seems to fit the Ladder 1 warning. Again, if information is not accurate, Niantic should update their materials. It’s painful to read about these things by second-hand in the forum.
It does not look like it, since there is a warning issue.
This is inaccurate. Your submission was flagged as abusive by the community.
We do not vouch for the authenticity of information found on any third party platform. If you wish to hold your submission from entering the queue or voting, you can choose to hold it. There was enough time before this nomination entered voting.
And what about the key issue? Why was this flagged as abuse? The name of the submission is short, but correct. Description and supporting information is just random letters put together as placeholders, as so many other cases I’ve seen.
I got home, sent all the nomination saved. Got an email from Wayfarer at 11:52 PM on Monday. At 11:59 PM (7 minutes later), the submission went into voting. Seems I only had a 7 minute windown to hold/edit 30 nominations.
This nomination was reviewed by the team after it was flagged as abusive by the community.
I can’t speak for the community but if I have to guess, it was probably because of the spammy text in description.
That’s not how descriptions work. Nevertheless, the team decided to categorize it as an offense of very low severity which doesn’t impact your account.
This is not accurate. I stand by what I had said, there was enough time.
