A vulgar name of Gym/PokeStop. Why my notice is rejected when I report it?

In Kraków (Poland, Europe) is a series of Gyms/Pokestops described as “Burger King/McD’s/whatever else - w zajebistej Galerii Krakowskiej w Wolnym Mieście Kraków”
“zajebistej” does not mean “awesome” like show the translator - it’s an adjective from “jebać” - “to f* * k”. Are we really supposed to have Pokestops and Gyms with the name “[…] in f** * * * *g good Galeria Krakowska” (without stars?)?
I reported it, but my notice was rejected by community.

Hello,

Title edit appeals are now to be done via Wayfarer Help Chat. More information can be found here:

We do not know why your edit was rejected, but as you explained, the use of zajebistej can be slang for a s3xual act. I did search for its meaning on Google, and the first result that comes up is that it means effing awesome, kick butt (but instead of butt, it’s the word for it that starts with A in English). I would make sure to include some information about this when appealing, or suggest that they should search for the word meaning online and that they’ll find the results pointing to it being vulgar slang.

I agree that this needs to go and that this word doesn’t need to be there even in an “awesome” context, it is not fit for print no matter the intent, and the rejection is frustrating. Indeed as mentioned above the first thing to do about it is to try an appeal in help chat with as much evidence as you can. If this doesn’t work don’t hesitate to post here again.

@DTrain2002 there are nuances to “awesome” - I’m sure you would not describe a wayspot nomination as “f***tastic”, and that’s basically what it is

I agree, a lot of things can be achieved through a dedicated channel, however, there are cases when the detail plays a key factor and the detail can be not understood by the Wayfarer Help Chat team.

I’ve previously submitted a request for the same set of Wayspots through Help Chat support and it fell on deaf ears. Later, I used the abuse form and had back and forth conversation which ended up in the Wayspots having the names adjusted to have the vulgar word removed.

Unfortunately, most likely due to concerted coordinated effort, it appears that the vulgar word is once again visible in the games for these Wayspots.

Below you can find a link to an government associated website which provides a context and confirmation on the vulgarity of the word - even though it’s entered mainstream, it’s not a word you’d like to use around minors (and a lot of them play games) or something one would use in official communication:

Edit: Dewulgaryzacja przymiotnika zajebisty? - Poradnia językowa PWN

Offline page: https://rjp.pan.pl/porady-jezykowe-main/331-zajebisty#:~:text=„Zajebisty”%20ma%20we%20współczesnej%20polszczyźnie,jego%20użycia%20w%20kontaktach%20nieoficjalnych

Lastly, vast majority of those Wayspots are not eligible. Those are generic chain restaurants - there’s 100s of McDonald’s, Burger King’s and most likely this specific word was used to get agreements for otherwise non-eligible nomination.

Thank you all very much for your help. I am glad that you share my values. I will go to this place at the weekend and see what the PokeStops look like now.

However, there is another similar place, in the city of Rzeszów, Poland.
50.04190196812218, 21.998095136236955
There, on the other hand, the description reads “nae of store/bar w wieśniackiej galerii Rzeszuf”. It should be "Rzeszów, but that’s less important.

"wieśniackiej’ comes from village, so it’s not a direct bad thing, but it has a indirect negative connotation, “like redneck”.
Can this also be corrected?

@onecino

Similarly to the previous example, with the risk of repeating myself, this should be considered abusive behaviour.

I agree, first of all the intentional misspelling of the city where the mall is located, secondly referring to the mall as “rednecky” seems derogatory and in my opinion both are used to mock and coordinate voting of otherwise ineligible nominations.

Should the Wayspots be retained, for the sake of keeping things civil these should be renamed “name of store bar w Galerii Rzeszów” as its official name of this shopping mall - one does not need to work for special services to find the malls official website https://galeria-rzeszow.pl/

Solved (partial. removed “wieśniacka”, “Žešuvas” left in 2 POIs). Check tomorrow.

Thank you very much. I will be in Rzeszów around 8-9 May, I will check then.

It took a while, but I checked the gyms in Kraków and Rzeszów. It’s OK, everything is correct,
Thank you very much!
