I would like to report that another Waypoint (currently a Gym in Pokémon GO) has been falsely removed by an individual, even though the real-world object still exists and remains in the same location today. The Wayspot was accepted on 7 March 2026 and has been live in Pokémon GO ever since.
Recently, we have noticed a recurring issue in Zevenbergen where several Gyms have disappeared, later returning as PokéStops, often accompanied by what appear to be inaccurate or AI-generated photos. There is already an extensive discussion on the Wayfarer forum regarding the situation in Zevenbergen and these removals. See: A waypoint (gym in Pokemon go) has been deleted, but the playground is this there - #21 by Sjoerd004
I would kindly ask you to investigate this case and restore this PokéStop/Gym, as it appears to have been removed based on false reports. The Waypoint is still valid and continues to meet the criteria for inclusion.
Additionally, I hope appropriate action can be taken regarding the person responsible for repeatedly submitting these false removal requests. This ongoing situation is negatively affecting the local community and is taking away from the enjoyment of the game.
Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.
Kind regards
Gymname: Symbool tegen Zinloos Geweld
Place: Zevenbergen
Coords: 51.648095,4.591280
I feel very sorry for what your community has to go through. Ireally hope Niantic can finally make out the individuals who try to hurt your community once and for all. I still don’t understand how Niantic decided to „stand by their decision to remove these wayspots“ regarding the evidence presented. It shouldn’t be possible for someone to fraudulently remove Wayspots as they please…
You have a stronger case for complaint when the object is not one that has been explicitly classified as ineligible by Niantic. Unfortunately that is the case here. A similar example would be a certain type of cycle route marker in the low countries which seem eligible but aren’t.
I’m am sorry to bother you again, but after your audit of all wayspots in Zevenbergen last week, this one has reappeared again in Pokemon Go as a new stop (white circle surrouding the stop) last evening. It has the same title and description. **Symbool tegen Zinloos Geweld (**51.648118, 4.591314). I asume the same person has nominated this one again as the previous one (or had changed the title and desciption of it). They have already added a second photo and I fear the same tricks will be used in the future. (Adding more photo’s and likes to this stop and than reported legit gyms in the same S14 cells (Cura Serena, 51.648027, 4.590013 and Speeltuin Gaasbeek 51.647753, 4.588677) with fake evidence so this this waystop will be a gym again). A second stop has also reappeard in the same area. this is Leen & Ruil Bieb • de Meeren 51.649637, 4.593581. I hope you will keep a watchful eye in the town Zevenbergen. I cetainly do.
Dear @Sjoerd004
I have been following your posts for quite some time and decided to visit Zevenbergen myself from Breda to see the situation with my own eyes.
The two waypoints you mention as having reappeared can both be found at their stated locations. While both are located directly in front of private residences, they are situated on or adjacent to public property and are publicly accessible. Therefore, their return as Wayspots appears to be legitimate and in line with Niantic’s guidelines.
The photos attached to these Wayspots also appear to be genuine and not fabricated.
From your other post, I understand that action has already been taken against the player or players involved in the previous abuse. This should significantly reduce the likelihood of similar issues occurring again, and I would expect Niantic to monitor future removal requests from this area more carefully.
I can also confirm that both Speeltuin Gaasbeek and Cura Serena are still present. Although Cura Serena is currently undergoing renovation, the facility and its sign are still there.
With that in mind, I hope no further removal requests will be submitted without valid grounds. As long as these locations continue to meet the Wayfarer criteria and remain physically present, I do not see a reason why these two Wayspots should not remain in the database.
I can inform you that false nominations or AI generated nonsense will be punished, and very quickly. While trying to help you, I submitted a nomination myself and was immediately banned for 10 years. Naturally, I will appeal this decision, but I would like to point out that it is therefore not possible for anyone to influence your village at any time.
We’ve removed “Symbool tegen Zinloos Geweld” as it does not meet our criteria.
“Cura Serena” Wayspot has been removed since the location is under renovation and “Leen-Ruil Mini Bibliotheek” is on a single-family home property. Hence, the Wayspot has already been removed.
