My 2 pokestops and gym have been removed in the last couple of hours. I have had another user trying to add me every day and think he may have removed these due to my non acceptance of him. All 3 are still showing on wayfarer. Can you please explain why these have all been removed. They don’t breach any reason to be removed, are not on private property and are all valid stops which have been in place for over a year.
Welcome to the forum!
If the stops and gym were removed, Niantic would have had good evidence to remove them.
If you believe these have been removed incorrectly, then you can make a post in Wayspot Appeals to request the removals be reevaluated. There is a template for posts in that channel.
Otherwise, any reviewer anywhere is able to make a report on any Wayspots they see that should not be on the map. They could have come from anyone.
If you want to ask for opinions about whether these were correctly removed, you could give us more information about the Wayspots.
There is a difference between when the Wayfarer map syncs and when Pokemon Go syncs. If the Wayspots have been removed, the Wayfarer map will reflect that soon. If only the game locations have been removed, you can check that by trying to begin a nomination in Pokemon Go while you are right there, and see if they still show as exclamation points on the nearby map check. The game locations can be removed without the Wayspot being removed by property owner request.
In the last 2 hours all 3 of my pokestops/gyms have been removed, These have been in place for over a year and all valid stops. There has been a user who i keep rejecting who may have removed these out of spite.
- Wayspot Title: Montague Park Wood Art/Montague Park Owl
- Location (lat/lon): 51.40774° N, 0.81077° W
- City: Wokingham
- Country: England
- Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
- Additional Information (if any): This has been removed both spots and a gym.
I will check in the morning as it’s dark now. This is in a public area though, property owned by the council I assume so no private owner would request removal? is it possible to check if all three spots have been requested to be removed or if it’s a glitch in the game?
i am waiting to see why @elijustrying moved this back to your original comment instead of leaving it in Wayspot Appeals
Hello and welcome @colebrookegt
I have merged your posts together here in General discussion to begin with. If it turns into an appeal we can move the topic over to appeals.
As Cyndie has explained the map data and the Pokémon Go game board do not sync at the same time hence the difference you are seeing.
Submitters have no way of knowing which reviewers have been voting on their nominations, and each nomination is highly likely to have been reviewed by a different set of reviewers. So I seriously doubt that is the cause.
It’s dark now so I would suggest going out tomorrow ( or the weekend if working) and taking a series of up to date pictures of all 3 with the geolocation data. Or if they are close a video may be easier. Make sure you show the objects and surroundings.
It is unlikely to be a glitch if these are the only affected ones. The most likely reason is a removal either by the property owner request or if there is any issue with the stops.
These were not nominations, they have been active spots for over a year and have literally all 3 just been removed tonight for no apparent reason? Hence this should be an appeal as to why they have been removed and what the justification is for their removal, as I cannot see a valid reason.
As mentioned above these sit in a public area and I doubt anyone from the council would be requesting removal of pokestops. Ami able to see which username has requested removal of these?
I’ll move it to appeals, as a whole.
The key will be providing evidence.
No that will be confidential information.
The team will have had evidence to remove.
sorry i confused the issue by telling you to post in Wayspot Appeals - maybe it is time for me to stop helping.
i agree the advice is good to go take photos to prove these actually exist at these locations currently, because they cannot be seen on street view.
If someone complained to the council the council could request removal.
You cannot see the 2 wooden structures on street view as they sit between clay lane and the road.
I can pretty much guarantee which username removed these.
I would strongly advise against making assumptions.
The way to solve this is simply to provide evidence that they are there.
I am not here to argue with you. This Wayspot picturing a sign calling this a “Playing Field” does not appear to be located at anything that would be called a “Playing Field” from satellite or street view, so you will need to provide evidence it is there.
The other objects aren’t visible there either, so you know what evidence you need to present.
The evidence is on the original pokestop submissions. Do you want me to go and take new photos of these and submit on here?
Are the 2 blue dots the original wooden structure locations as these as mentioned are along the lane.
