We have received reports on Twitter and several of us have been investigating the issue. In the Hirano area of Toyama City, Japan, a large-scale abuse incident appears to be occurring, where a malicious account is inserting idol and anime images into Wayspots related to post offices.
The scale of the activity seems too large for a small group of community members to handle. Would it be possible for the system or moderation team to investigate and take appropriate action on your end?
We would appreciate your consideration of this matter.
It might be useful to list slightly more details, such as the name of the affected wayspots.
The first two co-ordinates do not have any post offices anywhere near them, although the last two do.
Also, you can copy the coordinates from the wayspot details at Niantic Wayfarer, as it is better to use the official wayspot coordinates than something close by, to avoid any confusion as to which wayspot you are referring to.

It seems to be running around the post office inside the red line on the map.
My smartphone and browser aren’t compatible, so I can’t edit. I’m not sure if my message is getting across. Someone is maliciously adding images featuring idols and anime characters within the red-circled area on the map, targeting only post offices. Wayfinder can’t handle this. Can’t the operators do something about it?
There is a wayspot nearby, 太美郵便局, which does have an anime figure in the lower-right hand corner of the main image. It is fairly subtle, as it looks like it could actually be there, so it is only in the context of the others that it would be possible to know this is fake. This is at 36.522570,136.848903
Curiously, all three of these have a different main image in Ingress and have only one image in Pokemon Go. Exact same locations and names.
One possibility is someone has added extra photos and managed to get the old ones removed, except you can only get photos removed by Niantic, not by the community.
Inami Post Office is at (36.561251,136.968493) and the second image of five has the anime (not the main one, yet).
Even if deleted, won’t it come back as long as the original poster exists? I can’t understand how they’re innocent. It’s annoying. I want my time back from the people who dealt with this.
