I received an email from Niantic, yesterday morning, giving me a warning for “Misplacement of Wayspot submissions.” I nominate a decent amount around my town and try my best to place my nominations accurately within a few feet/yards. I even had one become a Featured Wayspot on Wayfarer the past week. I have only received one other email from the noreply@nianticlabs.com and it was for the last Global Community Challenge. I have not received any other email detailing the issues concerning my account and am interested in how I can learn from my mistakes.
You should get another email with a bit more information and giving you an example of a wayspot you misplaced, though this won’t always appear alongside the email you’re showing. If that other email doesn’t turn up, one of the staff should be able to send you a DM with more info.
“Yards” isn’t accurate. Not accusing you of anything, but many people seem under the assumption that “a few meters is good enough” and end up getting in trouble for abuse. They’re led astray by proponents of S2 cell manipulation.
This has less to do with your concern, but just so you know, “featured” is more or less chosen by an algorithm and not curated by the Wayfarer staff. I’ve seen watermarks, 3rd party photos, and significant distance misplacement in that page.
That aside, good luck (sincerely). Like the post above indicated, staff does monitor this forum and can provide more detail via DM. They rarely post specific feedback publicly to protect privacy.

Thanks for your response, I said feet/yards because some of my nominations are inside a building and it’s a bit difficult for those nominations to be pinpoint accurate unlike other nomination visible outside on Google Maps.

If you receive something like this, its 1st strike from abuse ladder system. Next warning could cause ban on pogo and wayfarer for 1 month
You should receive another email about which wayspot cause this warning
1st warning wont cause much issue. You will still able to play as usual. Its just warning pop out everytime you login
You are free to appeal in the email that was sent to you. if you dont have it, you can ask wayfarer team for DM since ban detail is not publicly discussed
Yes, this is my first strike and I was getting the warning pictures you provided. I think I’m just waiting for another email from Niantic to explain what the issue was and if I will appeal it.
