Add photo to Pokestop

Pokestop- Funky Art Mural.

I added a photo to an existing stop, one which was much clearer than the original. I received notification that my photo was approved. But now when I check my Wayfarer it shows the original dark photo as my accepted photo not my photo.

Hello,
To turn your photo into the cover photo you need to gather votes on it

Click on the photo disc top right, then top right again you will get to see the photos. As you go through :+1: by clicking the one you want.
You can see the number of votes. There may also be hidden votes, so you need to gkeep getting votes. I
As you can only vote once you might need to have others do the same.
This can also be done by looking at gifts.
as this is not a bug, I’m moving it to general discussion.

I know about voting, that is not the issue. Are you able to access my contributions? I tried uploading screenshots but they won’t upload.

The photo I added is not showing under my contribution, instead it shows as the existing poor quality photo.

Ah, sorry I had misunderstood, you hadn’t specified it was in the contributions page. And no only staff can see contributions.

You should be able to post screenshots….
But to clarify

That for the second image you are now seeing another copy of the original poor image rather than your accepted one?
What do you see when you go to the wayfarer map and look at the gallery of photos?

Is your image present there?

I just checked the stop on the map and my photo is there, I know with my previous add photos that have been accepted “my” photo shows under my contributions and accepted next to it.

With this particular add under my contributions it shows the existing poor photo not my nomination.

My internet is playing games at the moment and won’t let me upload screenshots to show you unfortunately. I just wonder that having the original poor photo showing as my accepted photo is preventing my actual photo replacing the poor quality photo?

Ah,
The thumbnail displays the current cover not your submission. Which is confusing.

This shows the one I showed above and the thumbnail shows the current cover not my submission.
The one below is one where I submitted and managed to make it the cover photo so it now shows in the thumbnail, the current photo and my submission.
It catches me out now and then.

The only thing to get yours as the cover is the votes. There are old ingress votes that can be counting which means you sometimes need to go beyond the number of thumbs showing.

Agreed it is confusing.

There is a community plug-in which (amongst other things) makes it so that the image shown in the Contributions thumbnail is the image you contributed. It would be nice if Niantic built this in as a default feature for everyone.

I LOVE this tool, and forget others don’t have it.

I don’t remember which one this is xD

Oh, i actually like the native design. That’s my signal that the cover photo hasnt flipped yet. When my photo becomes the thumbnail, i know i have successfully flipped it.

¡Hola!

In my experience the new photo will be accepted as long as it shows that it is in the same location (Murals covering older Murals is 1 of the occasions that it isn’t classed as Re-Purposing).

You will then need to get the new Photo voted on more times than the original so it becomes the main “featured” photo. Problem here is that the old photos could have years worth of votes including “hidden votes” from Ingress.

Then if the Mural changes again you need to get more votes for the 3rd Mural…

Not something I have needed to do but I have heard of people having success with asking Help Chat to remove the outdated image.

I have never needed a rename (mine was a play area that had new equipment installed. HElp Chat may be the way to alter that as well.

Good Luck.

Thank you Slimboy:blush:, I will definitely use the help chat more
