Hi, thanks everyone for your answers.
I submitted four locations that you can see in the photos. The four spots are side by side for a simple reason: there’s only Wi-Fi here, no mobile internet.
Here are the GPS coordinates: 27°37′08.39″S 144°20′01.7″W
And yes, it’s an amazing island — I’m lucky to be working there for six months.
The selection rules for a pokestop are 1 stop per cell - the green boxes on the map.
The community room sounds good as that is a social space. Which building is that?
What happens at the administrative building?
The police and medical centre are not acceptable.
The pier looks like an interesting feature and very important to the island.
Which buildings areas are covered by WiFi.
Welcome, as French Polynesia is considered a part of France, upgrades can be your solution as those then can be reviewed by reviewers in other French territories, as Wayfarer mangled those together.
This is an observation reviewers in and close to France sometimes made over time, that they would rarely get some reviews from the Caribbean, Polynesian or Indian Ocean territories of France.
So putting your bonus location somewhere with a bunch of reviews to earn the upgrades and some patience might be your solution!
Also, centre communautaire has an animal prominent in the photos focus, it is also not acceptable like this. I would recommend withdrawing it and re-submit with a new photo
I have been looking at the review screen and am fairly sure I remember a rejection reason for “animals”, but cannot find it. How would a reviewer reject because a photo is too prominently focussed on an animal apart from “low quality photo”?
You can make phone calls just fine, but using the internet on your phone is impossible. I’m not even talking about Instagram, Pokémon, or anything like that — even doing a simple web search doesn’t work . As for the Wi-Fi, to give you an idea, a YouTube video in 360p, when the weather is good (not joking ^^) and not too many people are connected, I can watch it without interruptions.
I just saw that 3 out of 4 were rejected. I was expecting that, I did it a bit too fast and they were sensitive locations.
There are many historically rich places I could submit for review, but what’s the point if nobody can actually go there because there’s no connection
Anyway, thanks again for everything. I’ll take my time with my submissions, be patient, and most importantly save my Poké Balls.
I’ve submitted wayspots in a nature reserve with zero signal, because I wanted to. I like finding things that are interesting and worth adding as wayspots - that can be a game in itself and for some people is an enjoyable thing to do.
So just because there is low signal doesn’t mean there is no point. It depends what you enjoy doing.
Also who knows when signal and connection are getting improved one day, and gyms and power spots can let you remote raid so you could.host some for others, some people love to get rare locations on their Pokémon for example!
It’s up to you, but I wouldn’t change my bonus to get stuck in a place that may only have 5 possible wayspots. Take a look at the island. The whole island is 40 square km, but there’s only one small village.
If we did, do we then get upgraded French nominations too? Which would add to it I guess. Or our queues from our own countries would just take up the restaurant of our reviews I guess? Unsure exactly how it would work but it’s nice to help sometimes
Oh, maybe. I just know how eager people are to rush to help but in this case, I almost feel like we need to petition the WF team to see the best strategy. If OP realizes that they can only submit 5 wayspots, maybe we can sweet talk the WF team to do internal reviews.
