Am I Missing Something? (Church Altars)

Kinda stumped on why this got rejected for sensitive? Are 24/7 Publicly Accessible Churches Altars not allow. Little stumped on this one.

Any insight?

I know other people feel differently, but I do not like individual normal elements of a church being separate wayspots. There may be things that can be treated as separate, but something that is part of the fabric of the church (altar, pews, stained glass etc) are duplicates for me.

Probably some reviewers feel the same way, so will instantly want to reject. Other people will perceive the altar as being used for religious purposes and not something that a horde of players should be congregating around.

I can understand this leading to a rejection for it being sensitive.

I could see how some can see it that way then.

Just a weird grey area as lots of churches have many historical or architectural features that are very eye catching and are visited often during Church Services, Event’s, and tourists.

But definitely why you said makes sense on why someone rejected it the way they did then.

I think the altar would kind of fall under the same idea as the field of play guideline for sports fields.

To me - as an active Catholic - it’s very different from other artwork in the more accessible portions of the church. Parishioners and visitors aren’t supposed to be in the altar area unless they are volunteering or something, and then only as necessary.

A stained glass window or one of the Stations of the Cross or (if this is a thing in your part of the world) an Our Lady of Guadalupe statue… as long as it’s in the lobby or the public seating area of the church, those things are a totally different ballgame, because (except possibly during Mass), you could walk right up to, sit next to, etc.

That said, when I have added stops at churches (six total at three churches), I have tried to only use outdoor elements. A statue, a memorial plaque in a garden, the entrance to the parish social hall, etc. In one case there was a cell with no outdoor elements that would qualify, so I used a stained glass, but it’s in the back third of the church (near the lobby, actually directly above the second set of confessionals).

So it becomes a gym. Would it be appropriate for a group of 20 trainers to do a raid during a service? I will often use the raid scenario when reviewing. I agree - sensitive location.

Or it becomes a power spot and 100 trainers gather for a Gigantamax battle.

Not gonna lie. That would really pull in a crowd. Local news: Church has massive increase in popularity over weekend.

I understand why it was rejected now and much more educated on this topic.
