I got this appeal rejection back today… I don’t remember what the original rejection was but I think it said “various wayfarer criteria”.
I think I wrote about how the marker was in the forest and quoted the niantic clarification on the markers (this one Trails & Markers - #2 ) and also said it existed on the local gov map which I told them to read the supporting info for.
What can I do to improve this one for next time? (Here is the link to the map from the supporting info

Maybe straighten and centre the marker in the main pic.
Possibly add into the description where it takes you towards/away from or any interesting nearby landmarks.
It’s almost a cc of the one in the criteria clarification except it’s not in the county of Kest. I’m also surprised you didn’t get an auto accept for helping people to get out of Croydon.
Man, I bet Niantic regrets making those criteria clarifications so much. I’ve seen dozens of topics in which they’re being beaten over the head with their own rulebook whenever they make yet another mistake or act inconsistent once again.
Yeah, especially when it comes to footpath and trail markers.
Clearly one of them saw this muckup here as it got overturned only a few minutes after making this. So, thanks whoever that was!

Thanks for letting us know. The team actually does follow these posts and reconsiders. That is encouraging.
Yeah, they’ll sometimes fix their mistakes, but they’ll do it without letting you know as that would be admitting they made a mistake.
I don’t think that is it. I think the people who change the status of the nomination are not necessarily the ones who see it here and give the head’s up. I know @NianticAaron has acknowledged when they got something wrong plenty of times.
