This POI was rejected some days ago, and i was fine with it because i didint bother to explain that its not only a school, but also an assesment center for 18+ exam takers, which is isolated from the school, the POI is not in a private area, however, i took it calmly since i didint expect much from an AI that checks the map.
But today I recieved an email that left me shocked, apparently I was involved in “abuse” because of the complementary picture which I did not look closely (photo here)
At first i thought that the warning in poke go was about people in the photo (which i first i didint even saw) but then i saw the “abuse” reason, and honestly i felt like i didint want to touch wayfarer again. How on earth is this abuse, i took a picture and didint notice two guys, even the phone AI blurred the faces and bodies because i did not notice them. I have no problem in getting the nomination rejected, but an in game warning for an alleged “abuse” i dont even know them.

The streetview photo i changed it and all seemed fine until the criteria sayed “abuse” and i was just flabbergasted, ate a warning and now im afraid of using this.
uh, you say the email says because it was of people in the photo?
If you ask me, you receiving a penalty is correct, but the reason stated in the email should have been for using copyrighted photos (street view). Cropping them doesn’t make them your own photos, which you were asked for per the Wayfarer guidelines for contributions.
Perhaps you can clear the doubt by showing us a screenshot of what your email says (without showing your personal data of course)

Sure but the one I put in this post was not the one I changed, i then took another photo without people but the warning was already done. ill send the email pic
they send me two, and neither of them specify anything of the copyrighted photos, just “malicious image submission” which i interpret as a kind of abuse
But a warning (probable ban) for a mistake like this? damn are they that severe with first beginners in wayfarer, i guess my bad on the streetview thing, but abuse?
The emails seem fair. You violated their policy and they let you know then suggested how to prevent doing that again. Taking copyrighted material off the internet and using it as your own is not only against their policy but it’s stealing and illegal.
I realize this is something you might not have known, but now you do. There are no consequences attached to the email that I can see.
Yeah its something i can understand, the thing is they penalized me for something way harsh than copyright image, because the policy violated refers to using images as a method of perversion or abuse, nothing related to streetview, also the email doesnt say it, but i recieved the pre strike in poke go, which means one more and ill be banned for like 30 days.
