Title of the Wayspot: Fietsroute 43
Location (lat/lon) : 51.162899, 4.354130
City : Hoboken, 2660
Country : Belgium
Reason for Appeal:
This Wayspot was recently removed, but it still exists and meets the Wayfarer eligibility criteria.
Exploration: It is part of an official cycling and hiking route (Route 43), maintained by the Department of Tourism.
Exercise: The route encourages walking and cycling, promoting healthy outdoor activity.
Socialization: Trails like this are designed for group use, allowing friends, families, and tourists to enjoy the outdoors together.
Close up photo of the sign:
Wider photo showing the surroundings:
The sign is permanent, publicly accessible, and safely located with pedestrian access.
Additional Note:
In Antwerp city, many other Fietsroute signs are still active as Wayspots. Reinstating Fietsroute 43 would ensure consistency with these existing trail markers and highlight Antwerp’s cycling infrastructure.
I kindly request that this Wayspot be reinstated. And if it is not possible to reinstate the Wayspot, may I at least ask why it was removed?
Kind regards

Sorry to inform you about this.
The bicycle routes in The Netherlands are considered basic infrastructure by the team. Therefore this will probably not be reĂŻnstated.

Oops. I misread I see this spot is from Belgium, but unfortunately the same applies.
I agree that this should be a valid wayspot, as I have previously mentioned in this post:
In my view the Wayfarer staff have taken a completely wrong position regarding Dutch biking trails.
Biking is very important in The Netherlands, we have more bikes than people. The government has even decided to assign official trail markers for recreational purposes. Many wayspots have been submitted, and in my view completely justified, as these are signs that have, by law, the purpose to mark recreational bike trails.
There are also many signs, again by law, to mark infrastructure direction…
However it looks like signs for recreational bike trails are no longer considered eligible (still see many in the game though).

Thanks for the appeal, @besova . We have taken another look, but stand by our decision to remove the Wayspot in question.
