Hello, our home portal was removed from Ingress some time today. We don’t know why, because it’s still there, and it’s in a accessible/safe location. There are plenty of people in this area that play Pokémon, Pikmin, and Ingress. We all use that portal in this family, and on this team. The only thing I could think of it being removed was because the resistance faction here is very upset and doesn’t like that we’ve been making a lot of MU off of it. We can provide proof of address if need be to show that we live very close to where it was located. We play as a family and we walk around this neighborhood playing Ingress and Pikmin together. Can you please bring back this portal. As it is still valid and has safe pedestrian access. I feel upon review you will see it follows all the criteria it needs to be a portal. I can also take better photos once daylight hits. I just thought I should get the appeal in as soon as possible. If you need anything else from me please contact me and I will give you whatever you need to show that it is a valid portal.
These kinds of signs typically don’t meet the eligibility criteria of a great place to socialise, exercise or explore. So it shouldn’t really have been accepted in the first place.
It is on a traffic median, which I imagine is why it was reported, though it does seem to have a crossing point to it, so I’m not sure that would’ve been grounds to remove it. Maybe Niantic have finally decided to start removing these signs for being incorrectly accepted. I’ll be interested to see whether this gets restored or not.
It has pedestrian access to it. You can walk right up to it technically there’s a crosswalk to it that you can literally sit on the sign. They are all over New Mexico these neighborhood signs. So I thought this one was fine. Although I’m not the one that submitted it it was actually a Pokemon person. However when it popped up I didn’t fight it I was happy to see it right outside my house too nonetheless
For future I would advise not including irrelevant information in an appeal. It is of no consequence that it is your home portal - in addition it indicates where you live, which you might want to consider.
The amount of use also doesn’t matter.
So try to stick to the facts as to why this meets criteria to be I. The database and is safe to access.
Thanks for the appeal, @MariahShakur We reviewed your appeal and stand by our decision to retire the Wayspot in question.
Interesting, indeed! @cyndiepooh you see this one yet?
