Appeal team recommends to resubmit wayspot. Is that allowed?

Title: Flying Fur!

Description: Flying Fur is a dog boarding, daycare & training facility.

Supplemental Information: The logo is distinct and unique on the side of the building. Once you exit the highway, there’s a reasonably sized parking lot, making the area accessible to everyone, especially those dropping off their dogs. This business is locally owned by a resident of the NRV area and does not have any other locations.

Niantic Note:
Thanks for the appeal, Explorer! We are unable to verify as per the nomination context how this business is locally significant to your community. We suggest that you add more information explaining why this business is important for the local community in a new nomination. This can greatly increase the odds of this nomination getting approved. Rejection Criteria
Generic Business

I’m not sure where I saw the information that after an appeal decision has been made that it is final, but after getting this response back I began to second guess myself. I wanted to make sure that if I reposted the same image for a waypoint with different information in the description/supplemental information section that the Niantic team wouldn’t flag my behavior as nontypical leading to consequences.

Also as a side question since I’m here. If anyone has any ideas of how I can make it clear that this business is important to the community and is not generic, I would love some suggestions.

Welcome to the forum.

The information that you saw that the appeal decision is final only applies to this specific appeal of this specific submission. I nominated a restaurant that had decades worth of “favorite” awards five times, and appealed two of those rejections before it was accepted.

I don’t think I would submit or accept this nomination unless there is something I am not seeing. You drop off your dog for care there, right? You need to explain how that meets one of these acceptance criteria Niantic Wayfarer

Must meet at least one of the three eligibility criteria

  • A great place for exploration
  • A great place for exercise
  • A great place to be social with others

If you are submitting the logo as art, you would need to beef up the focus on that. Can you find out the artist? Does the dog represent something special to the community? You can find more about the eligibility of business art here:

I am not telling you that you can’t submit this, just explaining what you would need to demonstrate for me as a reviewer.

So I could resubmit a similar photo of the logo, and the team has only denied this specific nomination. That’s great to know, and makes a lot of sense!

Yeah so I wasn’t submitting the logo as art. You mentioned that the area is for dog day care which is true, and it needs to fit one of the 3 criteria. “A great place for exercise” fits perfectly in my opinion. The tags I used were “dog park” and “sports training” which I probably should have added in my original post. In the description I also used the term “training facility”. Dog training typically has the owner working alongside their dog which can be very physically intensive. As an example, one of the training options is Flyball, where dogs race each other in competition, this occasionally requires the dog owner to also run alongside them.

If I would submit this again should I have specified all of this in supplemental information? I did genuinely think that “training facility” would have been clear enough, but I am open to change it if it means I get passed eMiLy auto rejecting my post again.

Get as much in the description as you can to let reviewers know about the place. It appears to me that a lot of people are making up their minds and rejecting for “Generic business” without ever getting to the Supporting information. Those training classes for owners with their pets sounds like a great match for criteria!

As far as getting past ML to let it into the review queue goes, try to take as pretty a photo as you can. I see that you did crop to square to remove a lot of background, which is a great start I would have suggested. I am honestly not sure how you could improve that. It centers on the photo while still providing context around the area of main focus.
