Appeal to remove a POI that is not accessible to the public

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Brytstugan 1944

  • Location (lat/lon): 56.054837, 12.727886

  • City: Helsingborg

  • Country: Sweden

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any): This Wayspot is a gym in Pokémon Go. The Wayspot is inside a private allotment garden area and is not freely accessible to the public. You have to enter private property to reach it. The area is only open a few months each year, and even now when it should be open, it is actually closed. So in reality, normal players cannot access it. Because of this, the location does not meet the rules for public accessibility and should be removed. It is not possible to do in-person raids since it’s closed to the public. It is fenced off and not accessible. This can be seen from google maps. It is unfair and should not be a Wayspot in the game. Please consider the removal of this Wayspot so that the players can get a gym where they actually can raid instead.

This is the entrance to the allotment area where there’s a sign with the opened months:

The same information can be found on their website:

During the rest 9 months of the year the allotment area is closed off to the public and only those with a cabin is allowed in with keys to the gate. The gym is therefor not accessible to the public and should be removed permanently.

Hey, public accessibility for everyone is not part of the Wayfarer Criteria. Limited access areas are allowed.

See here: Private Residences, Farmland & K-12 - #2

Hey, thanks for the response. It might meet the Wayfarer Criteria. But in terms of Pokémon GO, what’s the point of having a Stop/Gym that can’t be accessed in the game during 9 months of the year. It shouldn’t be this way. The gym takes up a spot in the Level 14 S2 Cell. We should have a gym elsewhere that’s accessible all year instead..

That’s a problem the Wayfarer Team here can not assist you with

Welcome to the forums

A general principle is that no wayspot has to be accessible to every player at all times.

A wayspot cannot be seasonal or temporary (only existing for a short period of time), but this is not a seasonal wayspot. It is a wayspot that people who are allowed to be there can access safely.

If a player cannot reach a wayspot, they need to explore ones they can reach.

The classic example would be something like a theme park that might shut for a few months over the winter to carry out maintenance etc.
During that time any gyms etc are only accessible for those that can be there - workers.
When open it is only accessible to those working there or those that pay.
Both are fine.

Thanks for the appeal, @Miikeywbl! We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.
