When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:
- Wayspot Title: Fietsroute 36 Sassedijk HW
- Location (lat/lon): 51.72207, 4.598518
- City: Strijensas/Schenkeldijk
- Country: The Netherlands
- Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information): Did not get one as they were removed, not rejected.
- Additional Information (if any): This gym was accepted a a few days ago, and the pokestop next to it was also removed. I don’t have a screenshot of the other pokestop but I did make new photos to prove that it’s still there, although the sign has been renewed recently.
This picture was made today and shows that the old wayspot (which was a showcase btw) still exists, although the sign has been renewed last year
According to Niantic’s own new criteria clarifications (Trails & Markers), these should be perfectly acceptable.
Thanks for the appeal, @assakura. We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.
Care to explain why? Because your newly-posted criteria clarifications say trail markers like this one are perfectly eligible.

I guess it’s time to resubmit everything since this one Niantic employee doesn’t care about the new criteria and is nuking everything…
Oh, and the pokestops and gyms that were removed in our area were all approved by the AI btw, not by malicious reviewers from my area. That’s why I’m quite frankly pissed off about this lack of information, lack of empathy, and lack of concern.
I agree, an explanation is in order, how are we supposed to understand and follow the rules if we have little idea what they are and the team refuse to clarify.
