Hi Wayfarer Team,
I had a Wayspot approved on Feb 23, 2026, at 10:44 AM, but as of Feb 26, it still has not appeared in Pokémon GO or on the Wayfarer map.
I’ve verified the placement using standard community tools, and all spacing criteria are met:
- The S2 L17 cell is completely empty.
- The location is well over 20 meters away from any other POI.
- The entire L14 cell currently only has one other Wayspot.
- Other Wayspots that were approved after this one have already synced and shown up in-game.
I noticed in a similar thread that sometimes approved Wayspots don’t appear if a property owner has requested a block on the area. I want to note that this location is not private residential property.
Could you please take a look to see if this is caught in a database syncing bug, or if there is an artificial restriction placed on these coordinates?
Wayspot Name: Krimmler Holzportal & Rad-Verteiler
Coordinates: 47.217001, 12.173790
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hello and Welcome,
I can’t answer the problem you are having but just a couple of pointers.
- The map you have shown (Pogomap) is user generated so his not up to date and not always accurate.
- There is no 20 metre rule in Pokemon Go.
Did you definitely follow the rules? You own photos, correctly located etc?
Hopefully a member of staff will confirm the problem.

Hello,
Thank you very much for the welcome and the reply!
You’re completely right about third-party tools like Pogomap. I know they aren’t official, but I mostly use them as a visual guide since they have generally been reliable for my area in the past.
Thanks for clarifying the distance rule! I thought the 20-meter minimum applied to all games, though I actually had another Wayspot approved closer than that before, which confused me. Good to know that the S2 L17 cell is the main rule to watch for Pokémon GO.
Regarding the submission itself: yes, I definitely followed the guidelines. I took the photos myself with my own phone, and the pin placement should be highly accurate, maybe with only a few meter margin of error.
Hopefully, a staff member can take a look soon and figure out why it’s stuck!
What is the wayspot? Are you able to provvide an image?
Normally wayspots appear within 48 hours and this area doesn’t appear to be blocked.

Of course. Here are the details:
Name: Krimmler Holzportal & Rad-Verteiler
Image:
Description:
That’s a possibility, but it would be a little unfair, since streetview shows people walking along that strip.

The location is a little inaccurate, but I think it still appears in the same cell (admittedly only just), so it doesn’t look the location should have caused it to not appear.
Just because on a street view people are walking there doesn’t mean there’s actual safe pedestrian access. That’s not an argument
As a local I can say that this is a sidewalk that is regularly used because its the offical way from the parking spot to the waterfalls. And the street you see is restricted to 50 km/h, so its rather an “Ortsgebiet” as we call it here. Its not a high speed state road
In this case, it is easy to argue the gravel strip is intended for pedestrians. It starts a little down the road at a path leading to a tourist location and finishes up the road at a car park. This strip is specifically for people to walk from that car park to that path.

Yeah, very common for Austria. Maybe you can think of something to provide for staff here and they can reinstate the Wayspot?

The speed of the road is less relevant than the intended purpose of the gravel strip.

The car parking is labelled as “Parkplatz P2 Krimmler Wasserfälle”. If you can show that “Krimmler Wasserfälle” is intended to be reached from that car park by walking along this gravel strip, this is solid evidence.

I think in terms of how it look in real life the google street view shows it perfectly.
As an addition this is a photo of the offical sign from the first parking space labeling this as the foot-way to the waterfalls. On the photo you can see even in the winter lots of people are walking here.
You can kinda see the nominated structure through the trees on the top left in the gate
I have worked out where the waterfall is - above parking P2, so that is no good.
However, parking P1 is below this structure and it does appear that the official route from parking P1 to the waterfall is to walk along the gravel strip to reach parking P2.
Myself, I have no doubt this gravel strip is pedestrian accessible and safe, but if that is the reason the wayspot hasn’t appeared, you need to provide proof for Niantic.
That’s starting from this car park:
If you can match that photo to this location, that’s excellent. The snow makes it hard!

Found it. That direction sign is definitely at parking P1 and directs people along the gravel strip

Currently its a little bit hard to provide a photo without snow. Behind this portal labeling it as a foot-way there is also this blue board which is visible from street view
Note: The other blue info sign is a wayspot itself
I agree that having looked around on google this does seem to be designed as the route for pedestrians.

You don’t need to, since the sign is visible on streetview and clearly points the walking route to the waterfall. The path is signposts leads up to the road, after which you use the gravel strip.
What we don’t know is why the wayspot didn’t appear. If it was pedestrian access, this thread should be sufficient proof, but if it could be something else.
Hopefully staff will comment to help you.
