Ask for a warning reason

Welcome to the forums.

The “Abuse” rejection narrative can be flagged for a nomination for any of a long list of reasons. I don’t need to list them here, as the Abuse is clearly an incorrect location.

Do not worry about the phrasing “The text of photo contains abuse…”; focus instead on the warning about the incorrect location.

The problem is that the “Report” menu isn’t set up in a good way, and people don’t read.

The “Abuse” option has a section of text underneath it that indicates that it should be used for photo’s or text that are abusive or offensive.

“Title, description, and/or photo is offensive/objectionable, includes hate speech against a protected group.”

People just default to using it for anything they deem that’s abuse. Fake nomination, something nominated at an incorrect location, etc even though the option for fake nomination is right below it.

There’s no option for something real nominated at a location that it’s clearly not at, which I think there should be.

There’s a difference between:

  • That locations not right, reject as incorrect location
  • That location is abusively incorrect

That’s not true, afaik wayfarer considers using third party images, misplacing submissions etc as abuse which is why this comes up even if flagged by Wayfarer.

Correct, I’m not saying that’s not abuse…

My point is that the description on the “Abuse” option in the report menu says it’s for “Title, description, and/or photo is offensive/objectionable, includes hate speech against a protected group.” not for an abusively misplaced location. Which is what leads to people getting the rejection message that is very misleading.

So either the description on the “abuse” option needs to be updated along with the rejection message, or another option for other types of abuse needs to be added.
