Hi
I had a submission be auto rejected twice and I’m not sure why. Any advice?
Welcome to the Forum, @moderncd ! What criteria did you suggest that this nomination meets? Is it a great place to explore, exercise, or be social? Truthfully, I’d likely reject this candidate as a generic business unless more detail was given showing that it meets one of those pillars.
I’m not terribly familiar with auto-rejection logic, so I wonder if we could see your description text, supporting photo, and supporting detail text? It may be something in there that’s catching the (virtual) eye of the automated systems. Even if it passed through to community voting, though, this candidate might be a very difficult sell. That’s my opinion only, of course, and based on incomplete information.
I moved this topic over to Nomination Support in an attempt to reach the right audience.
Hello and welcome,
I don’t see a pet grooming/day care business as a great place to be social/exercise/explore. To me, it’s a generic business, as it provides a service to the community, and that service is to groom pets and provide a place for them to be while their owners are not home. Yes, the dogs may get some socialization in, but their human owners most likely aren’t stopping there to socialize. I would reject this as a generic business.
You may want to review the Wayspot Criteria to get a better idea of what may or may not be eligible. You may also want to check out the Criteria Clarification Collection for more ideas, as this section covers the most asked about places.
As many others have stated, this is a generic business unless theres some socializing for Dog owners when waiting for their dogs to get groomed (wich you should prove in the supporting info).
Anyways, I can see the color and shape of the sign MIGHT look like an official street sign for an AI. Like “no dogs sh*tting here”, so i think AI might have confused that. Still not worth an appeal unless you can prove it matches the criteria.
Most signs in the US kindly ask that you pick up your dog’s waste. I’ve never sern any with swear words on them that are signs put up by a city.
Doing a Google Lens search of the main image brings up this business in Lowell, MA, and it’s a pet groomer on Google Maps. That info was most likely what ML found when rejecting this.
