Basketball court at Woodville Gardens

I submitted the basketball court at Woodville Gardens and pinned the location at the end of the court near one of the goals not far from the Pavilion. Now I look at my submission and the pin was moved to Gill General Sales and Service. The pin moved but why?

Welcome to the forum!

Reviewers can move the pin in voting if they believe that you have misplaced it.

If the pin is now correct in the real world, there is nothing you can do.

If the pin is now not correct based on where the point of interest is physically, you can ask help chat to move it at Niantic Wayfarer

Unless it is really clear on Google Maps, they will want evidence such as a geotagged photo. They will NOT move a pin simply to make it show in Pokemon Go.

I’ve had enough GPS issues when submitting that I routinely check the location after I get the submission email. The GPS coordinates are under the supporting photo. Cut and paste them into Google maps. It the location is correct, great. If not, I withdraw and try again.

Oh what @GrandpaTP said if you aren’t talking about an accepted submission having moved. Sometimes this happens when you are at the remote submitting limit and the pin bounces since it can’t go that far. Sometimes the game doesn’t advance your position.

I’ve also discovered that my GPS locks to my car for a while after I turn it off and walk away. This is to make a reconnect quicker after a short stop but it is very annoying when I am out nominating.

The main problem is
The basketball court is next to the Office and Clubhouse at Woodville Gardens is at 184 Garden Drive. I pinned it at the goal at the end close to the Pavilion.

Is this nomination in queue, in voting, or accepted?

If the nomination is in queue, you can withdraw it as suggested.

If it is in voting, then there is nothing you can do to correct it. You might try to ask help chat or staff here to reject it for you.

If you are saying the nomination was accepted at a different place than where you pinned it, I already explained how that can happen and what you might be able to do about it.

This map of portals is no longer updating with Wayfarer nominations, but fyi, if I have found the correct location, the basketball court is completely contained in occupied L17 S2 cells and is not eligible to be a Pokestop or gym, no matter where you place the pin on it.

I’ve seen power stops (not dynamax) directly under Gyms. They are so close you have to work hard to click on them separately. I thought that there could be 3 Pokemon Go stops in the same square and one would become a gym if there wasn’t already one there.

Check out this explanation about how pokemon go uses s2 cells:
https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
there are two sizes of cells that matter. something has to be alone in one of the smaller level 17 cells like i showed here in order to be a pokestop or gym. the bigger level 14 cell is the one that determines gyms. you get gyms at 2, 6, and 20 total pokestops/gyms in the L14. Here is the size of the L14:

By the algorithm rules, one of those should be a gym. Assuming they all exist in Pokemon Go, since I am looking at a map of Ingress portals.

How do you get that to do that in Ingress?

I don’t know if there is any point in setting this up now that Ingress is separate from Wayfarer. This is the iitc app with a pogotools overlay. I have been told that I can’t directly link this type of file which has the potential to do harm, but that I may leave a screenshot. Google “pogotools” and look for this:

The readme file walks you through how to install. I can’t help with that if you have any trouble. The readme file also makes clear that this is no longer updating with Wayfarer information.
