[Bug]: POI not appearing in Pokémon GO despite clear S2 cell

Wayfarer Team,

I would like to report a synchronization issue in a specific S2 cell. Recently, someone has been manipulating POIs in my area, which I am monitoring and may report in a separate thread. However, in this post, I want to focus on a specific case of a disappearing playground POI.

A fake (non-existent) POI was either created or moved into an S2 cell that had been occupied by a legitimate playground for over 5 years. As a result, the original playground disappeared from Pokémon GO. I have already successfully reported the fake POI as invalid, and it has been removed from the database (I provided full proof for its removal).

Currently, the cell contains the original playground and one other legitimate, approved Wayspot. However, neither of them is active in Pokémon GO, which is very strange. Now that the fraudulent point is gone and the cell should be “clear,” shouldn’t one of the remaining legitimate points be activated automatically?

Could you please look into this cell and trigger a manual sync to restore the correct Pokéstop?

Welcome to the forums

A new wayspot, whether fake or leigitimate, being added to a cell shouldn’t have any impact on the existing wayspots, as they came first. It is likely that a separate action caused the playground wayspot (Osiedlowy plac zabaw or Regulamin placu zabaw nr 3 na osiedlu Pom..) to be downgraded.

Whatever that was is still impacting those wayspots. Hopefully Niantic will comment.

Hey @b3rserk1 ,

Thanks for the report.

The Wayspot should be live on the gameboard as a PokéStop now.

Best,
