I have a list of (so far) about 50 wayspots are easily verified to be on private residential property via street view.
Assuming stats stay consistent, I’ll probably have ~500 when I’m done with just my city.
Would Niantic folks prefer that I just dole them in one at a time via Ingress, or would they prefer a bulk upload somehow (say, latlng + street view link as proof).
Or, I could set up a list somewhere (e.g., Google Sheet or equivalent) and let others help report.
For at least while I have the drive, I’ll probably add about 20/day to the list as I go through my list of spots to review.
Before you submit them for removal, please can I just check… are they in Single Family Private Residential Property and not in Apartments or House of Multiple Occupancies? And has the wayspots been verified as either not being at the location, temporary or on SFPRP boundary?
You can use the wayspots removal form and I believe (as I haven’t done this) that you can attach a document with all the details……thevteam will then work through it checking etc.
Of course. That’s why I said they are “easily verified” and can produce SV links.
They ones I can’t verify are on PRP are either verified legit (though many will also need to have their locations fixed), or not visible at all on SV, so I’ll eventually get around to visiting those in person to make a decision.
Registering a PRP Wayspot is a violation. You can report it by clicking on the “Reporting Abuse” link at the top of this page. I am attaching the link to this comment as well. Since a large number of reports can be burdensome for the staff, why not report them 10 at a time?
The geo-tagged images, which are not Street View links, but images taken by actually visiting the location and checking it out, will be sent to the staff member in charge by a receipt confirmation email after the email form is submitted, to which you can reply by attaching the images. When using geotagged images for proof, it is better to send the reports one at a time.
I think you can use either.
The one that asks if you are the home owner you just apparently ignore the first email and wait for the second one 15 mins later.
But possibly the second might work better.
