Just a question. The sign just says “bike lane” and has a photo of a bike.
Unless there is much more to it than you have mentioned, no. This would just be a sign alerting traffic to the bike lane. It may not even have safe pedestrian access.
That is the short answer. The long answer is that there is nothing preventing you from nominating it, but it is highly unlikely to be accepted. I would not waste a nomination on this personally.
Signs that just mark a bike lane are seen as part of infrastructure, indistinct and found in many places around the world. They are also usually mass-produced and can easily be purchased from vendors in-person and online.
I would do a web search to see if you can find any similar signs like the one you are looking to submit, as if there are ones that are in other places and/or can be purchased, then these would be ineligible. If it’s like the image below, it would be considered ineligible.
Something like this could be accepted, as it show a known public Cycle(way) route. A sign saying Bike Lane or just a bicycle image on its own, won’t be.
Not just a basic bike lane, like the others said. But definitely keep an eye out for bike trails that help people exercise or explore.
National Cycle Network routes are brilliant to nominate, as are local routes. Sometimes its hard to get the first few accepted but over time it becomes easier ![]()
