Hey everyone. There is a new bike path installed on a road near my house. The path is clearly marked but there are no signs or markers. Is there anything I can do to get wayspots on my bike rides and walks? I’m new to this. But I quickly discovered the electrical boxes don’t get approved ha.
Well. Is the bike trail listed online. Does it have a name. Where does it run from and too. Does you LGA have information on it (local government authority)
A suitable anchor point can be used for the cycle trail /. Can you share the location? If you don’t mind. Then maybe the crew here can help ![]()
And @dstutz welcome
OH and electrical boxes. Can be accepted if painted. From the UK to Australia they get accepted (the painted ones - artistic painting mind ![]()
A bike lane is really just infrastructure, but a biking trail encourages exploration. Biking trails might be named or numbered, but usually there’s a sign (a directional sign won’t do). If there’s no sign and it’s part of a biking trail then find some other sources to back it up (online maps, local authority websites etc) and put that in the supporting text.
That looks like a great bike lane though, is it in Canada?
Welcome to the forum!
Glad you are here asking questions, but the way I understand this clarification, these bike lanes are not eligible:

It looks like this is a bike path rather than a bike trail. Can bike paths get approved? Also, google maps doesn’t have any recent pictures and this was done last year. So google maps won’t show the path.
I try to submit quite a number of cycling (and walking) routes. We are lucky to have a long distance cycling trail called Route 5 which goes from England into Wales! And the local council have also introduced some cycling routes that head towards the station but go via several parks and along the riverside, which are really beautiful places to explore. So even if your new cycle lane isn’t strictly eligible, I would definitely keep your eye out for official cycle trails and submit those- you’re thinking along the right lines!
Here are some of my recent cycle related successes. As you can see, although I take a picture of the trail marker, I am describing what happens on this section of the route and what people will pass by. I think that helps. Also all of these can be followed on foot too -you don’t have to cycle them
