I put a nomination for a new pokestop as the one that was around was turned into a gym annoyingly. The nomination was for a clustern of local cycle route signage. This was rejected by the community so I appealed this but the appeal was rejected saying that it’s a cycle route sign and looks mass produced. My arguement to this is that further along path way is a new pokestop addednon last few weeks, and guess what, it’s cycle route signage.
Hello and Welcome,
First if you haven’t already done so please read
The one that was rejected is a directional sign to various places some of which are cycle friendly. But there is no evidence that this is for a defined route for example a NCN route or a local named route that avoids roads etc. Directional signs as the clarification states are not acceptable.
The accepted one refers to the specific Workhouse cycleway and the Green wheel walk which is promoted by sustrans even although it is not an NCN. In that case as it is part of a named and defined route it is acceptable.
So the 2 are very different and in my view the appeal decision is correct in this case.
Perhaps worth following the Green wheel walk for more signs as it looks a good route and you can link to a website for proof.
Thanks for the response, you can’t see it fully but the sign that is pointing to the camera does say Green Wheel on it, if this was to be shown would that be acceptable or because the sign is in the shape of the direction rather than an arrow pointing the direction it is not acceptable?
Hi,
If that sign is for the green wheel then submit that.
For the main picture get it so that it fills the central part of the picture, The supplementary one needs to show that direction sign in the context of the whole and where it is for streetview.
Link to the sustrans green wheel site as there is a map that will help confirm and show it is a good trail to walk.
