I can’t tell anything just from these images.
My submission is a lovely vineyard field that showcases old regional apple varieties traditionally used for making wine and cider. 2 of my nominations in this area has already been accepted, including the big main explanatory board, so the rejection isn’t because of duplication or lack of significance. So it’s 100% meet the criteria even 1 appeal from niantic it self got accepted . wouldn’t have been accepted I assumeif it wouldn’t meet the terms.And the other one got approved by normal wayfarer
I’m just wondering if anyone here understands a bit more about why the AI review system feels so random, and if there are any tips to help prevent these kinds of rejections from happening in the future.
Like anll 3 uploads are from the same day one get AI reject 1 gets into public voting got accepted and 1 got into niantic review and got accepted aswell. I really dot not understand how this works makes me abit mad

we don’t (and shouldn’t) know exactly how the ML (machine learning) model works, but i think the variable could be that it is learning and so may change.
personally, i would try leaving a little more frame around the sign in the photo to give a little more context on the background. center more like this:
but not so far away that it can’t tell what the focal point of your nomination is.
oh i didnt see this comment while i was replying. i can’t explain this. but i would try again with the border for context.
these look a bit too far away to me. the ML model most likely could not tell that anything eligible was being submitted with this much background.
i don’t know how to explain the balance i am talking about except with that photo i shared. let me see if i can find a guide.
This is pinned in the Wayfarer Discussion Discord as a guide to a photo that will look great on a disc spinner. It also works well to let the ML model understand what is being submitted.

I know - but I just appealed one of the old ones - and niantic agrees wich is silly in terms of the AI pattern I tried your advice - one got AI denied and one made it , I guess it’s just super random sometimes xd
It isn’t random, it’s just that Niantic won’t (for understandable reasons) tell us how eMiLy makes decisions, so we have to guess. This makes it hard to know why one picture is OK and another isn’t, but it definitely isn’t random.
There are going to be objects that eMiLy rejects, but a reviewer would accept. Not a lot, but definitely some. This is why you will find some appeals succeeding.
