I’m unsure why this nomination would be turned down, but trail markers on the hiking trail were approved…
Welcome to the forum!
I think that is the rejection reason you see when reviewers selected “Generic business”. I see that your description and supporting statement are the same. Can you explain more about the kind of information visitors can find here?
I’ll be honest with you. It’s a little frustrating that with a 30 second search, i found more information about this place than you put in your nomination (from over 1,000 miles away). If you as the nominator can’t give more than 1 sentence about the place, why should reviewers care about it?
Hello and welcome,
Yes, I have to agree that you should provide more info about this, such as what educational opportunities are offered here, what kind of research is done, that this is the last salt marsh in MA, etc. It could be a great place to explore, but what exactly will one find there that is worth exploring? With trail markers, they encourage exercise and exploration of an area, and whoever nominated them may have explained this in the supporting info.
I wouldn’t copy/paste the description as the supporting info, as the supporting info should prove to the reviewer why this meets criteria. There are some that think certain POIs are going to be automatically accepted, but there’s no guarantee of this, so you still have to explain how something meets criteria. A link to more info about the marsh can be included in the supporting info, too.
The burden of proof is always on the submitter, as not all reviewers are going to go searching to find more info about a nomination if it isn’t provided. Some of us will, but even afterwards, we may still feel that it hasn’t met the burden of proof.
